Maniaplanet with still have way more options and stuff than Turbo. New design or not.
As I said in the french section, I still doubt Turbo players will move to Maniaplanet and pay 40€ again (supposed discount / free env) just to get crappy menus and more user-created content.

Re: Hello Planet #5
If they want to play on MP, they can test the demo and see if they like it. But maybe some several clues in TMT can say that MP exists.
Re: Hello Planet #5
Would someone from Nadeo explain what's the reasoning behind the fact that people from some countries will receive a "region locked" language after buying this new game? Screenshot from steam
Not only that, but the language that's not official in their country.
From what I understand, the following list of countries:
I understand that this is Ubisoft "policy" (I decided against buying some latest Ubisoft games for this reason alone), but still, please make something about this if possible, because you will get even less buyers from the eastern-europe region - some people just don't know russian, and some people do know it but will not buy the game if it has no support of their native language or at least english, etc.

will receive a russian language only, without a possibility to change it or at least to buy the "EU" game which is more expensive. Don't get me wrong, there are indeed a lot of people who speak russian in some of these countries, but if we exclude Russian Federation, percentage of people that have fluent russian will be much less then 50%(!)Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan

Re: Hello Planet #5
Why would they wanna play on MP when they can have the same game in TM Turbo ? For some user-made random quality textures and rocks ?
As good as Bethesda selling mods on Steam to me

Maybe I got it wrong , but :
2015 shouild be the year of trackmania , right.
TMT is to get new players for maniaplanet , right.
What will Maniaplanet get , or stadium for example ?
Is stadium not Trackmania ?
So maniaplanet players will be still stuck with a non finished product ?
Uhm , maybe I read this giant topic wrong , but ?

Railbag, I suppose that if there were a much better solution, it would be already there. Making different price is rather a good policy to help in some places with some differences, but if there are troubles, I understand they try to manage it in a way or another. This being said, it's good you tell me, because some ideas or discussions may lead to better solutions, even if I can't even tell if I would be in such discussions: I am much more on the dev part and I was not even aware of this. I have other topics, like offering an environment to TMT owners, so maybe I will be capable to raise some questions.
Toninus, if there is environment that they like in TMT, they will have the same on Maniaplanet for free, including what you call "user-made random quality textures and rocks" but that I call good tools, services & awesome use of them by great players, such as what they do for dedicated servers, modes, titles, competitions, news, skins and sites. If a player play TMT and very much like one environment, he will be able to go play the same environment, updated in Maniaplanet 4, for free, with another campaign, create even more freely or go online for all the know how of the community. It's even a little like when people where saying the ones with Original & Sunrise would not go on United. I know it was difficult, but the logic of being able to make update was there as well. Maniaplanet is the place of updates, console is the place of the standalone package and PC is where you can find a lot of things, including this version.
Hackie, Maniaplanet is a product that evolves. So, it's by definition an non finished product. But we work at improving, toward Maniaplanet 4. I would have prefer for it to be sooner for Lagoon to be released this year, but like I said, unfortunately, it will be next year. This being said, it's quite a year for Trackmania as term of release with TMT and work. And yes, there will be also something next year then.

There are always a better solutions, than to let people play the game in which they won't understand a single word.Hylis wrote:I suppose that if there were a much better solution, it would be already there.
Most steam games just go with "can only be played in this region" limitation and everybody is okay with that, when it comes to the games that have different prices in different regions. Well, hopefully this will be changed, I understand that people from other regions won't exactly understand what's the problem, but I assure you it will sound like an extremely bad joke to people that live in these regions and don't speak russian at all. I'm sure tons complains about this "policy" from the different Ubisoft games can be easily found using google. (not even mentioning a lot of those that know the russian but will only accept playing english version)
In my opinion, the very least thing that could be done is to let us buy a "normal" EU version of the game - for example you/Ubisoft will get 40dollars/euros(or whatever it costs) for EU version from me, or nothing at all for the russian only

Re: Hello Planet #5
ok, I did not knew either for the region loc of play. I suppose then the people responsible for this at Ubisoft are well aware of what you are saying if there are many places online that talk about this, but it's good that I know as well for me to ask some questions on the occasion. Thank you for pointing that out (can't tell I can do something)
Re: Hello Planet #5
Well Hylis, you seem pretty sure that TMT will bring players to TM2, and there is a lot I don't know so I'm just going to have to trust you on that
As for the price: What about someone who doesn't have all three envis in TM2? Will the price for TMT only be lower if they have all 3 envis in TM2, or will it be reduced per environment?

Re: Hello Planet #5
zack11, I don't think we will do something this way, or it would make it both way: when you get TMT, then you can have Lagoon, and if you have other envs, then you have TMT. So, in the end, you would have Lagoon when you have the other envs + a special price on TMT. One good option would have been to propose a lower price for TMT when you have 4 envs, but that's the other way than the normal move of the long term play: I discover with TMT and I can go beyond freely for one environment with Maniaplanet.
Rots, nothing to do with that. TMT is a good opportunity to reach a lot of players, and it's logical that it's a good business opportunity as well, but it would be not logical to jeopardize a big project like Maniaplanet if TMT would not be feasible while we do it.
