Thats what usually is the problem, splitting a community between platforms. I assume maps created for PC, PS4 or XBO only work with the type of device they have been build with. Which would be a shame. I actually preferred TM to be on one platform, the PC. And that I can simply upload my tracks or download those of others on websites like the tm-exchange or similiar.
Its a global mistake that devs create new games for separate platforms, when it comes to the Multiplayer. Especially, and I am sure no developer or programmer for that sorta stuff, since I doubt it would be too hard to combine the different platforms online since I doubt the actual streams of player-to-server information would be so much different. But again, thats just me without the proper knowledge. Maybe I am wrong.

wow, not even cross-platform funcionality. I do not own one single console so I just assumed it was quite common to have cross-platform multiplayer. Bringing TMT to PC makes even less sense then. I thought PC players could dip in that pool of new players from the consoles. Now people are gonna be spread across three systems and two PC platforms. It is the exact opposite of what I was expecting after watching the announcement at E3

Why not @Hylis?HawkGer wrote:wow, not even cross-platform funcionality. I do not own one single console so I just assumed it was quite common to have cross-platform multiplayer. Anyways, when I imagine playing with console players all together it just feels good. Everybody can play together which instantly would make this game (more) popular.
Push back the release date 1month and make it happen? But as I said... Maybe there are some disadvantages to cross-platform that I dont know of...

The neverending waiting game has to stop.

Can you elaborate why? For me it seems like it unnecessarily divides the Turbo community.Hylis wrote:there will be no cross platform multiplayer

Perhaps this has to do with the way turbo works on console, and that people shouldn't have hassle on that platform and can just connect ?
Am I right in thinking you or ubisoft will host the dedicated servers for turbo on pc and consoles ?

I didn't read the complete article but it seems there are limits imposed by the console manufacturers to avoid cross-platform multiplayer: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/23/ ... -a-reality
I'm sure Nadeo would have enabled cross-platform multiplayer if it were possible.

Oh that article made me think about a few things though. For cross play trackmania to be fair, you'd almost have to force pc players to use controllers
And then there's the services yeah. How much TMT seems to depend on sony services or xbox live, I don't know but I can understand that there's a problem in how these system store and send stats and that it's different from PC.
All these variation kinda make it seem like it's not suitable to do cross play between pc's and consoles. Console versions have to be hooked up to all kinds of different systems.
I first thought it shouldn't be such a hassle to let every player regardless of client and OS connect to linux servers, but who's stats are going where if that feature isn't the same on PC....

Most of the Trackmania players I have encountered play with an controller anyway. Most with XBOX 360 Controller, recently some upgraded to Xbox One Controllers.BLaHiTiS wrote: you'd almost have to force pc players to use controllers

Oh hey, are the keyboard warriros gone ? Cause I can remember a great deal of discussion about how tm on pc is aught to be played with a keyboard
Anyways there's also people playing with joysticks
And when TMT comes out, I'll have probably my steamcontroller, I would really like to try that to get a feel for it.
