Trackmania Turbo seems to have a nice UI. I don't think that it would work well with current servers which display stuff everywhere on the screen.
I just hope that the servers hosted by Nadeo will have enough features to be usable.

Not host youre own server ?
What ?
What about all those people creating server controllers and stuff ?
Thats realy a minus --- , bad game.
I like to play alone , hunt records on my own server.
So this will be destroyed. hmm.

Depends how it is done.
Too little info is known right now.
I can't imagine playing online without global records though, so I hope there's at least that.
The other thing I worry about is lack of moderation if servers are hosted by Nadeo/Ubisoft. But maybe if there's no chat, that won't be much of an issue.

Well you can make party rooms in ps4 so people can join there and have a chat with a microphone so there should be moderators in the party rooms. But its a choice of the players then who is moderator or not in those particular rooms.
As eyebo said information flow is low so its only guess-work now.

Re: Hello Planet #5
If they want TMT players to move to Maniaplanet, of course they have to strip some features from it, in order to make everyone move to MP. Like custom servers, skins, mods, title packs, custom music, replay editor etc.
Once Maniaplanet 4 is released, the only thing special about TMT is going to be the funky artstyle (which I absolutely love). TMT on PC is not meant to last in my opinion, while Maniaplanet is.

Party-based multiplayer is insanely common in many multiplayer games, wouldn't amaze me to see it here too.
Just takes away part of the charm TM always had.
However, TMT will unify all environments, which MP fails to do, so there's always that

Re: Hello Planet #5
Well, ManiaPlanet isn't on consoles. So that's obviously one of the biggest things that makes Trackmania Turbo special.
That people with a PS4 or XO can play a modern version of TM is huge. Not everyone is a PC gamer. And one of the biggest takeaways I got from the announcement is that this will bring TM to a larger audience. I'm also grateful it's coming to PC since the last console I owned was a PS3.
When Canyon was released in 2011 a lot of people were disappointed there was no boxed copy. Now they can finally have a boxed copy of Canyon, and the other environments, in Turbo (PS4/XO only). As I understand it, it will be something that we can load again and again without having to worry about huge updates on slow connections. A bit like United Forever was.
Sure, ManiaPlanet will continue to be great for those of us who want a more customized experience. But Turbo will have it's own personality and it's own virtues that make it worth playing. I'm looking forward to a paired down and more simplified TM experience.
In all honesty, ManiaPlanet is intimidating, even for me. There's so much in there, so many possibilities. Imagine how it must feel for someone new to TM.
Turbo might just be what people need to get fired up about Trackmania, and I'm certain it'll have it's place in the living room... where the whole family can enjoy some crazy tracks.
Also, there's this:
