I don't have an answer yet, but i doubt it (if i looks how Uplay games work).CrAzYdriv3r wrote:I got one very important question so that I can make a decision
Will retail (U-Play) cd-keys also work on Steam? I want to buy TrackMania Turbo, and get it both Retail (in a box) and Steam version, since I like having my games on Steam. Will it be possible?

Hum, but Maniaplanet keys were supplied to Valve as well so that you can activate your Maniaplanet keys on Steam, so why do you think this is doubtful?Cerovan wrote:I don't have an answer yet, but i doubt it (if i looks how Uplay games work).CrAzYdriv3r wrote:I got one very important question so that I can make a decision

These were Maniaplanet keys, not Uplay ones (Turbo is a Uplay game).

Re: Questions & Answers Trackmania Turbo
I am going to order the Retail version so that I can put it next to my Trackmania United Forever copy^^ It would be really awesome, though, if it was somehow possible to have it on steam too (No, not using non-steam)

BTW. Do not forget to increase price of TMUF - too many people play this game, someone should stop that crowd. :)

But if the game don't includes a mediatracker, how you made all replay-animations?Hylis wrote:Hackie, after Turbo, we are fullspeed on Maniaplanet and for a long time. For Trackmania players, they should look for Lagoon/Power Up/Maniaplanet 4 as next steps. But for now, it's Turbo, and it's cool!
W1lla, because it's really special on console. There are many rules to make the experience consistent. It's rather positive for Turbo. We can't disclose these rules, but server controllers would easily break these rules.
SqueelCr & ManiaDesign, making videos, sophisticated mapping functions like mixmapping are much more efficient on PC and therefor more logical to keep on Maniaplanet itself. Again, the goal is much less to recreate Maniaplanet in Turbo than to make Turbo a more wide audience friendly experience. And this is why it will be a good transition to go back fullspeed on Maniaplanet afterward. While this wide audience realize how cool Trackmania is and how much they will want to push the limit further. We have made a tremendous work on the map editor for Turbo, but really in that spirit of people being able to climb the scales of complexity in a confortable way, in order to join the community while reaching the top ^_^

Either they are using a private ManiaPlanet branch (MP4 but with Turbo titlepacks), or it has some sort of dev-mode inbuilt in it.ManiaDesign wrote:But if the game don't includes a mediatracker, how you made all replay-animations?
Anyways, i have a question, will reverse key use work? (steam key used in Uplay for non-steam), just asking for curiosity
Also, are there new graphical improvements or is it just me? (I could see the Stadium road reflects stuff, Turbos emit dynamic lighting, Lagoon water has a water caustics effect), if yes, will those be on MP4?

Re: Questions & Answers Trackmania Turbo
Talking about the gameplay, I tested Turbo at Gamescom last year and I could definitely feel a difference when it came to Stadium, although maybe that's been changed by now.Cerovan wrote:It's the same.Rots wrote:i have my doubts.SixelAlexiS wrote:Because they said that the gameplay of stadium/canyon/valley of TMT is the same of TM2
Looking back at earlier versions of Stadium though, they all have different controls. But perhaps we have different viewpoints on what's the same or not. For me personally, the gameplay matters A LOT for games, and I very easily feel the difference if it's been changed from version to version even if it's pretty minor which I guess people could argue has been the case.
But details matters to me (especially when I was a competitive player), and I've always had the opinion actually that the very first version of Stadium (TMN ESWC) also had the best gameplay - which gave you a more sense of control.

Re: Questions & Answers Trackmania Turbo
By gameplay i'm talking about car physics or track physics. As fb said, just by watching the trailers I feel something is different either on stadium, canyon or valley. This last one even has new dirt blocks, that imo seem unplayable with current car speed unless you kill the speed factor.
I mean, TMU ports of TMO franchise also was suposed to be the same, but... (All these are personal opinions but i'm sure i'm not the only one ft. John lennon thinking this way)
TMO desert car was lighter, easier to countersteer. Drift point angle was easier to reach on TMO. Sand/dirt had a different handling/feeling compared to TMU(f).
TMO rally grass was less slipery than TMU(f)
PF maps broken by far, never similar times from one game to the other on the same track... etc.
