Does the solo mode contain a 5 minutes timer between each ranked runs?
This is so true man. The official run should be the one where you are 453% risky to push your time to the limit, but in TM2 with these 5 mins you almost need to safe in order to keep calm... In TMUF I was full SP (had 4,1M at my max) but I totally stopped in TM2, impossible to play with these 5 mins when you play in a 25sec map...do the ratio, it's toooooo much.sofamasta wrote:This timer has been the biggest disappointment for me in TM2.
I remember reading that this timer was implemented to prevent "rich" people with a lot of planets not to be too much advantaged over the others. As every official run has a cost, you train more and do less paid run.
But as a player, I felt it only brings frustration to the solo mode. Instead of giving 100% every run trying to accomplish your best, once you have done your official run, all the pressure you put on yourself falls down. Yes you can train during theses 5 minutes but you will not feel the stress you can have when you beat your PB at the half map checkpoint.
And if you do the perfect run during the training, it is even more frustrating. The best everyone can do on a game like that is kind of a "single shot". A perfect run that come only once every tens and tens of runs. So you can push your level over your skill limits, taking maximum risks. That's how I like the solo because there are no duration limit.
And if I want to play "at my level", doing my best but not pushing too high over my skill, then the multi is there!
