With your knowledge, how many would you recommend?

For 48h, I think around 15 or 20 tracks are enough to have a great track list.

not to be nitpicking, but is there anything you know how to do yourself? Every question we have is answered with "what do you think is best?"
You're really focusing on OUR experience, while in fact you should already know all of this.
now it kinda feels you came up with an idea, shouting high from the rooftops and hoping it lands somewhere safe.

anyways, before diving headfirst into the project, here's a few questions:

- what do you expect from the community and what experience do you bring to the table?
- for how long have you been playing trackmania?
- what is your overall experience in organising/planning/PR events?
- Does the manchester area know of your planning and do you have permits to organise the event?
- what's your age? (just not going to put 50+ hrs of time in every track when this is a kid's fantasy)

edit: that's only 20 ppl (23 if you count admin tables)

you're talking about 400 man on the event.. that's almost 1% of the entire population of bramhall..

That is only the small scale local events that I do 2-3 weekends per year. For that I have managed to secure 14 sponsors. The sponsors are such amazing and kind people, can't thank them enough. The world record attempt event being seperate.

From what your saying you missing the entire point completely really. Nadeo are sponsoring the event very kindly indeed of them. Keen to have involvement from there community both myself and Nadeo am sure.

But to answer your concerns no problem at all, I will do my best. Firstly what have I done myself so far to start with. Well gained approval from Guinness for going a head for the world record attempt. Having a film group involved for coverage for the event and the build up for it. A few sponsors so far of course Nadeo kindly being in this. In talks with possible other sponsors. A venue which does everything that's needed but can't be named or made public yet at this stage. The venue having two main areas. One for the world record attempt itself. The other being for sponsors to have stands to display products etc. There being a retro consoles area. Also looking into perhaps a virtual reality area. A charity being involved, this being Teenage Cancer Trust. So certainly being a worth while cause am sure you agree. So being nice people working together as well for helping the event come together and happen. So as am sure you can hopefully understand and see me being rather busy. Of course I do understand the community and Nadeo being busy as well. Hopefully time can be found, like I am doing.

Me only asking what you think is best with me valuing your thoughts and opinions that's all. Can't see what's wrong with this. Simply looking and wanting to work together for the event. I am not a gamer myself. What I enjoy is all the arranging, organising and working for making things happen.

Experience wise I have been doing events 2-3 times per year since 2007/2008. Once the film group start the build up for the event. This will then start to get heard and seen more in the public eye. I am 34, no kids here :-).

Hopefully we can work together? Please do ask anything you wish. I am more than happy to answer.

thanks for that update, a lot clearer now ;)

There's a lot of goodwill among gamers towards charities, the world record attempt is actually less important for most of us. Therefor it may be wise to alter your 1st post and name the teenage cancer Trust.
Also make sure to mention in every new post you create about the project.

as you're starting from scratch , tracks are but a small part of the total package.

here's a list of sites and communities which can really help you out on these subjects:
- dedicated server configuration (maniaplanet.com/mania-exchange.com IRC channel)
- competition plugins/scripts (maniaplanet.com)
- signs (maniapark.com/mania-exchange.com)
- tracks (mania-exchange.com)
- carskins (maniapark.com)

No problem at all, glad to hear back from you :-)

People outside the UK may not have heard of or know of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Looking for help and support with the work load for making the event happen. Nadeo kindly provided me with a couple of direct and specific sites.
