3 days to go, which version: steam, uplay or boxed ?

Post by reaby »

Hi,

I was wondering if there's any significant difference between versions if i purchase the game from steam or direcly from ubistore... As we all know there is huge difference between maniaplanet from ubi/nadeo and maniaplanet from steam.

as maniaplanet Steam version can't load user title etc...

So which one I shuold be throwing my money at  which is better ?

With Long wait for 3 days,
Reaby

I can tell you I don't care for either Steam or Uplay so I won't be playing TMT unless another option becomes available in the future.

Steam is just a reseller. You'll need a Uplay account to play the game

Yes, I know this, and I have already uplay account, but i don't have uplay client application installed at my computer.

So if I buy from steam, no uplay application is required and it works like rocksmith does:
I just login using my uplay account when game asks it, right ? and it works like the version with comes with uplay, or ?

So, I have to install the uplay application any case? If so :0010 since for example rocksmith works without it very well.

If i need to install uplay application in all case, then i buy directly from uplay store as there is no benefit from purchasing it from steam :)

If i'm not mistaken, TMTurbo IS a Uplay game on PC, so you'll need Uplay in your PC to launch the game (but really I'm not sure I'd better say nothing maybe)

No matter where you buy or start the game from, UPlay will always be needed. Personally I've bought the game from Steam, simply because it was much more comfortable for me that way. I don't really mind running Steam and Uplay simultanously.

Well technically you won't need to install UPlay, because it will just launch UPlay when you start it on Steam, and close UPlay when you close the game. Essentially UPlay only acts as a "launcher", like every other UPlay game on Steam. (Well, that, and also achievements and leaderboards go through UPlay instead of Steam [I think?], so that's the only difference, really.)

Many thanks Riolu for your comments!

I think this nailed my decision after all... since all I think is the easy of use; Steam is good place for me to have all games in one place (except maniaplanet, since it works better standalone).

Hopefully Steam autoinstalls uplay application for me on the first run, so I don't have to download it manually :)

Thanks all for your insights,
