Trackmania Turbo: GraphicProblems

Hi i just started playing a hor ago with TM Turbo on PC. First i saw that the graphics are really bad, so i fixed it in the graphic Launcher. But after the graphics were bad on. Like a monster. Its much worser than TM2:
Black flickering in Water
Lines in Sky
And worst antialising i ever have seen

What shall i do for make that stop?

I agree. While Canyon works like a charm on Nicer settings for Turbo I have to change them to FAST and even then it's a bit crappy...

Yeah, the texture resolution is really bad, and there are a lot of graphical issues, like:

-strange vertical line when you race on the ground (both stadium and rally, haven't tried lagoon)
-HUGE shadow box that follow you
-a sort of issue with anisotropic/texture filtering, you can see an horizontal line in front of car that make more clear come white texture on the road on rally mode etc.
-the FXAA is ugly as hell, we need at least MSAA


They really didn't care of PC user base with this game...

Agree. It was obviously made for console players.

I don't have those problems on my PC version of Trackmania Turbo.
Screenshots? config and driver?

Settings German (Becouse google translatar sometimes translates wrong)
Kanntenglättung: FXAA
Maximala Filterung: Antistroph x16
Vertikale Synchronisation : off
Max FPS: 150

Voreinstellung: Sehr schön


And in English Settings:
Knew smoothing: FXAA
Maxi Mala filtering: Antistroph x16
Vertical sync: off
Max FPS: 150

Default: Very nice

I made a video, take a look (sorry for the framerate but Plays.tv give me some problems for recording, the game runs at 60fps vsynced)

You can see the "shadow box" issue when i try to spawn on the field, there is a giant box around the car area, you can see it even in game in certain occasions like this one:

See it? it's more like the grass don't grown at certain distance, but it's pretty short and distracting.

For vertical lines instead, you can still see them in the video, it subtle because of the video bitrate but you can see some strange vertical and blurry lines that appears when you race in that sort of grass, same thing happens on stadium.

They are pretty clear at 0:07, see those vertical lines? they are there all the time and when you turn around the "follow" the camera.
Sadly i can't upload better videos right now and with screenshot the effect isn't visible.

if you don't know italian:

1- Max setting
2- Max setting
3- Middle setting

Resolution is 1920x1080.

My PC (Windows 8.1) :

i7 4770k @3.5Ghz (@3.9Ghz overclocked)
Asus AMD R9 280X DC2T (GPU Clock : 1070 MHz - Memory Clock: 6400 MHz)
16GB Ram @2133Mhz

Video Driver: 16.1.1


Last thing: the graphics is pretty toned down, especially texture resolution... you confirm that TMT have worse graphics than TM2 :/ ?

The thing you call Shadow Box is a technique to improve the performance. Objects in the distance have less details than the one near you.
There's a thread about some issues with this system in ShootMania: viewtopic.php?f=469&t=30415&hilit=level+of+detail
I'm also used to it, but that's because I always played TrackMania on low settings, pretty bad that such close objects already render with the low-quality version of the block on maximum settings. (water seems to be on middle, but that shouldn't affect this, lol)

I found the Problem which made the Water flickering: Iff you set water from normal to high.
High does not make it better, it makes my water flickering.

I also have the black flickering on water. But this time I really hope that this game doens't have nicer settings just to tease and the solution will be put settings to worse... (see high audio missing since 5 years in maniaplanet...)
