Well said, Haagse
ManiaDesign wrote:But what with the "ubi-time" got wrong? Many things...
Really? Be more specific instead of repeating blindly what others say without thinking...
It is much to easy to always blame Ubisoft for things which are not like one is expecting...
So, please tell exactly what is bad, and where Ubisoft is blocking / offending / hurting you. You get the point?
Not defending Ubisoft or Nadeo, only trying to make things more clear.

What Ubisoft does is perhaps not perfect, since they cannot do anything right for everyone apparently.
But at least they try, and what is perfect anyways.
Of course, at the time where CD / DVD boxes are not extremely necessary anyore, smaller developer studios or individual game developpers can provide their game easily in the internet.
But you forget what it means to create, maintain and keep a big multiplayer game running.
Without a big company behind, there is not much chance to do that.

Look at the cast of Turbo, it is very impressive how many have contributed. Only movie productions show more.
Sure, many other products also have big contributor listings, but they never show up like that ;)

...The game is good, but this game is 99,999% a ubi-game and you can see: mediatracker not translated, buggy, some screens are not translated. Gamebugs, FPSdrops...

this happens with any game and is not specific to Ubisoft at all.
And you know very well yourself that the base engine is Maniaplanet, and that Ubisoft only provided the visual design?
Why don't you blame Nadeo? ;)

Nadeo = a bit ubisoft (a ubi-studio).

you don't really answer the question.
Let's ask differently. If you hate Ubisoft that much, why are you still here then? :P

Because he paid the game.
We are going off topic boys :(
Don't be wrong, Ubisoft doesn't affect much what Nadeo wants to do imo, they are just a support. If you don't like something, you should in my opinion blame more Nadeo than Ubisoft.

i keep reading this is a console game ported to PC.. although that may be true, it's actually worse.
it's a PC game ported to console, which was then ported to PC.

which kinda works the same as translating this english text to french using google translate and then translating it back
qui fonctionne un peu la même chose que la traduction de ce texte anglais vers le français en utilisant Google Translate , puis le traduire retour
that works much the same as the translation of the English text into French using Google Translate , then translate back

when they announced open beta for consoles, they mentioned the reason there was no PC open beta: so we can work on the pc version. They clearly weren't finished on the eventual releasedate (after open beta ended) and as a result we've got ourselves a bugged collection of several pieces of unfinished code rather than a solid game.

i've seen people explain TMT doesn't have anything to do with Maniaplanet, it's a totally different game..
yet there's maniaplanet.pak, maniaplanet_skinsCE and maniaplanet_extras in the install

anyways, it's clear the pc version needs a lot of work before we can speak of a game.

Its not about how the game looks from the inside, its even logical they copied things from Maniaplanet.
Its about the intentions of NADEO.
What does NADEO want to do with TMT AND MP !
The intention was to bring Trackmania to consoles, and with that imo NADEO was also forced to bring out a PC-version of Trackmania for consoles.
The intention of MP is still there, as you can read very well on the forums.

That you already can see what will be coming real soon in MP by looking in TMT is great!
But MP still has a lot of stuff made by the community which is still there when the next update is there.
Then you can really compare and see if MP is also a complete game or not.
Again, technically things look alike (which is not really a surprise imo), but its all about what the vision is behind it, what are the upcoming plans with MP and perhaps TMT.

I think NADEO really brought a cool game to consoles and also the pc-version for that and yes there are bugs, we as a community should point out!
But do not forget whats next to come, and i am sure there is more then you can see now!

Greetz,
