Conection to other countries servers impossible?

From Steam forum, I got two reports that a connection to servers outside of the own country was not possible.
Mainly connection errors, which lead to a shutdown of the game.

One set of logs here, from Austrian user

Started, went to online selected a german server, tried to join. Failed - closed the game

I've also seen the report from a US user who couldn't connect to European servers.

Any idea? Or do you have the same issues?
