I have more fun playing with friends in a team, that to play solo a time attack competition... I mean, what is this "fun" argument?... I personnally don't like this at allRasque wrote:Its a fun game so would be the matches. Dont think in known TM match modes just what are fun and easy to play. The consoles way.
Its also not like Forza or Project Cars or smth, its TM. And it has its type of experience of playing, for fun^^ Time attacks, maybe Rounds, etc.
Of course no team competitions^^

This.. doesn't sound professional at all coming from a head admin at ESL...Rasque wrote:Its a fun game so would be the matches. Dont think in known TM match modes just what are fun and easy to play. The consoles way.

Yeah time attacks as competetive mode.. when you can only do 5 mins max. I'm pretty sure this is hell of fun

Also if it wasn't for fun: For what else would you play PCars and Forza? for work?? oO what the hell are you trying to tell with this nonsense argument?
Re: ESL is looking for TM Turbo admins from consoles
Hm, maybe HotSeat mode, where will seat a 2 or more players for 1 colour side (Blue - 2 players, Red - 2 players, etc.)? Or create new team mode, Nadeo

We are currently in the starting stages of getting this off the ground.Darkhawk wrote:This.. doesn't sound professional at all coming from a head admin at ESL...Rasque wrote:Its a fun game so would be the matches. There is no clear vision yet, besides wanting to organise a few tournaments on the console versions of Turbo.
One of the things our new admin(s) will have to do is think about how this can be filled in best.
We think there are possibilities to gain a bigger audience by including the console versions of TrackMania into our section. Also, we're hoping that this could create bigger playernumbers/spectatornumbers in our more "professional" tournaments on the PC (ManiaPlanet).
There are possibilities there in Turbo to organise these cups, be it individually and in Rounds (or Time Attack) mode.
Please don't heckle an idea before it is even presented to you.
We're taking this step-by-step, and on the way we'll find out how it works out.

Just because you are used to the known things you shouldnt take away the fun from console guys. And whats the problem with time attack? Ever heard of time attack seeding or smth?Darkhawk wrote:This.. doesn't sound professional at all coming from a head admin at ESL...

And why would 5 minutes be a problem? It is obvious its not about 1 minute long hard tech maps but short fun maps. Because it is TMT you know ^^
Also why should TMT be that professional? It has its limits but it has a minimum level of competitiveness. And I believe its way enough for searching other players to have fun with. ESL has a lot of fun games as well, cant see the problem with TMT. If you dont like what it offers then its not us who ruin your game experience^^
Re: ESL is looking for TM Turbo admins from consoles
I'm just a bit confused that ESL shows so much interest in other Environments than Canyon and Stadium now.
I just wished that you guys would've shown more interest for the TMUF Environments when they came out but instead you focused on Stadium and Stadium alone until now. That's one reason for me to be careful with ESl and that i'm overall quite angry at ESL..

Re: ESL is looking for TM Turbo admins from consoles
We searched for admins - nobody cared. If that satisfies you. However ET did nice tournaments for TMUF.
About why we care about anything else than stadium, and that makes you angry - well, I dont know what you are missing from Stadium, the current yearly calendar is quite full and we take part in that quite enough.

You're quite angry at us for not organising tournaments on all United environments?Darkhawk wrote:I'm just a bit confused that ESL shows so much interest in other Environments than Canyon and Stadium now.

For some time we've been active in organising such tournaments.
However, when you end up with only admins interested in organising Stadium tournaments, it's going to be hard to organise United tournaments.
Remember that we also do this just for fun, it's not a job, we get paid nothing for it.
If we don't find fun in organising tournaments for United, it ends somehow.
Also, I don't see why it is an issue that we were not active in United.
ET has always provided a lot of tournaments for United and have until a few months ago.
We have tried organising tournaments on Valley, so it's not true we only focused on Stadium/Canyon.
With this new game (version), with direct multi-environment possibilities (which when introduced to ManiaPlanet, Valley was already "dead"), other playerbase, we feel we should include what's available.
EDIT: What Rasque said...

Re: ESL is looking for TM Turbo admins from consoles
There were in fact ESL tournaments in Trackmania Sunrise a long time ago too. ET just cornered that market and I don't think we would have been happy with ESL running simultaneous tournaments on TMU, in fact

In fact guys there have been ESL teams competitions on TMUF, the one I think about was even great ! There has been two editions if I remember.Zooz wrote:There were in fact ESL tournaments in Trackmania Sunrise a long time ago too. There were 2 groups (qualification phase), and then direct elimination with a classic three. The great thing was the player number, different on each maps. Each matchs, 5 maps was played on 5 environments with this configuration:
1 map: 1V1
1 map: 2V2
2 map: 3V3
1 map: 5V5
I thought CMC participated to one of them but I'm not sure. But there was at least TnT, UMF and Reven in it
