Help-How to change camera before and after loops

Post by alcadeias »

Hi guys,

I'm making a track in trackmania stadium 2. Is there a tutorial that explains how to change camera before and after loops? I tried to follow tutorial based on trackmania nation but I didn't achieve my goal.. Can you help me?

hey alc,

the nations tutorial are basically correct, but ifyou keep in mind that you have to place the "end" trigger at every cp-respawn.

this might be the main problem, otherwise, give me a link to such a tutorial you watched before

cheers gugaru :)

EDIT: maybe put this thread to ingame -> mediatracker

From the track editor go into the Media tracker (lower right side of editor) then into "Edit in game".
Your first empty clip will be automatically ready to edit and a square cursor will be somewhere on the track. Use this to mark a trigger area just before your loop. (This triggers the media track when the car passes through it). When you're done placing your triggers, click the little cube icon above the clip window to exit the trigger editor.
Then there are two small windows which will contain lists of Triggers and tracks at the lower left of your screen.
Just above the box on the right Click the "+" sign for Add Track and you'll see a list of media track types. Select "Camera Race". Then near the top left of your screen you'll see "Camera" and "Target" Change Camera from "Default" to "In car" or what ever it is you prefer and be sure "Keep Playing" is checked above. (this keeps playing the track until another trigger is hit)
That's it for changing the camera in the loop.

Now to change it back when you exit the loop;
Click the + sign for "Add Clip" on the far lower left,
Place a trigger at the exit of the loop and make sure you mark the entire width of the track with the Trigger editor so you won't miss it when driving.
Leave this Clip empty, (the trigger will stop the previous clip from playing and your camera will default back) exit the media tracker and test your track.

I hope I was clear enough and didn't forget anything.
