Hello,
I used to play on Trackmania Nations Forever, and all my replays (.gbx files) were associated with the game, and I could open them with no problem.
When I bought Trackmania United Forever (I still kept Nations on my PC), I could open .gbx files with both games (Nations by default, but if United was already open, the files would open on United)
Now I uninstalled Nations because I have no more use of it, and I associated .gbx files with United... but now they won't open anymore. United briefly launches and immediately shuts down. And if United is already open, nothing happens.
I can still open these files manually within the game, but it takes longer.
Is there a solution to fix this?
If you need any more information, just ask.
Thanks!

The assignment is probably not corrected completely.
If you know how, search for nations with the registry editor.
Otherwise reinstall United, it shout then also correct the assignments.

Hi,
I have uninstalled and reinstalled United, problem is still the same.
What do you mean searching with the registry?

If you have to ask this, then it is probably better for you to ask a friend who knows what he is doing.
This would be better than you twiddeling the registry yourself, right!?

Well, I don't really have anyone to help me.
If there is a tutorial, I'm sure I can follow, and if it appears too complicated I simply won't do it.

Ok. For a start, open the registry editor (regedit.exe) and search for nations ( the name of its executable, like tmnations.exe or similar, I don't remember it).
And you have to know that Replays have to be opened differently.
Because executing tmunited with gbx will make it run them as challenges.
But replays contain some other data additional to the actual map.

Re: [TMUF] Can't open a .gbx file
I uninstalled TM Nations, I only have TM United left.
Here is what came up when I searched for the exe:

I do know that .gbx files can be opened as challenges.
When it worked, I would open a .gbx file, and on TM it would ask me "Play Against" or "Watch".

Search for the gbx associations, tmunited should have similar entries for maps and for replays.

Thanks for the link Hubby, but it didn't work.
When I enter the game directory in the program, it goes green and everything is greyed out (which means, according to the forums, that it should work fine).
TMarc : I'm gonna need more details to search the registry... but I think I'm in way over my head here x) I already tried a few tweaks from that other forum link, but nothing is working.
