I've been introduced to speedrunning a few months ago so I tried it on my favorite games, the Trackmania game serie (all TM² but especially Trackmania Turbo that I like the most). I found out that only TM² Stadium and Nations Forever were """active""" the past months thanks to other really good players who started speedrunning (like Spam and Symbiose). But nearly no one was racing TM Turbo, TM² Valley or Canyon.
That's why I've decided to launch my own speedrun event to celebrate Winter from December 28th to December 30th, 2016
. Speedrun contests will be organized during the three days on the following Trackmania games: Trackmania Nations (Forever),Trackmania United (Forever) and all Trackmania² Games (Valley, Canyon and Stadium) and Trackmania Turbo with its 200 tracks

4pm-6pm: Trackmania² Canyon: 1h30-2h long, 6pm-7pm: Platform: 30min-1h long
9pm-11pm: Trackmania² Stadium: 1h15-2h long

The event will be done with SpeedRunsLive, the live racing service for Speedrun.com. In the Resources, you have a tutorial on how to join the event by telling you how to create a speedrun.com account, to download Livesplit and to use my splits and my layouts, to create a SpeedRunsLive account and to participate to SRL races.
If you can't figure out how SRL works, you can still start your race at the same time as SRL users and submit your run on speedrun.com after completing your speedrun.
I still need to know how many players I can expect to have for this speedrun event. Here are three ways to let me know you'll participate to the event.
1st Way:: Fill this Google form (http://bit.ly/2i52VWu) to let me know the games you'll play and when you'd like to play them. You can also mention your Speedrun.com, SpeedRunsLive, Discord and Twitch accounts in the two last questions where you'll give a written answer.
2nd Way: In the comments of this post, mention your Twitch username, your https://speedrun.com username (create an account if needed), your Discord account with the hashtag (RastaBobby#2025 for me) and the speedrun categories you have chosen.
3rd Way: Directly on the Discord server (see Resources) do the same thing as for this post's comments.

SOME INFORMATION AND A FEW RULES TO FOLLOW
1) A vulgar behavior, hatred, downright disrespect and free advertising are forbidden during the event.
2) You'll need to unlock all tracks of the speedrun category(ies) you have chosen. Because not everybody has unlocked all tracks, shorter speedruns will be organized (only White series, White to Blue series,...) and these shorter speedruns will start at the same time as the fullgame speedruns.
3) During your speedrun attempt(s), you are asked to stream your speedrun on Twitch (viewers will be able to switch from one contestant to another) and to keep a save of your stream with Twitch Turbo or directly on your computer with OBS for example. We need to see and to be able to read the map times (for TM Turbo) and the times on the splitfile. If you have a poor streaming quality, please record your speedruns with OBS (file output only) and upload the videos to YouTube or Vidme for example. During the speedrun, please log to the TM Speedrun Discord server (see RESOURCES) to talk with other contestants and to share live your progression in the game speedrun.
4) Contestants will use their own Livesplit files or files created by myself (200 splits for TMTurbo fullgame and 65 splits for TM² and Nations fullgame speedruns (see RESOURCES)) and they are free to choose their display layout. I still have a good layout for you in the Mediafire link. It is not needed to have one split per map, you can split once per flag (per environment on TMTurbo)
For all maps and with 1 split per map, you must split time after the loading time of the following map EXCEPT for the last map of each game section (i.e last White track for TM² games and each map which finishes by a 0 for TMTurbo, i.e map 30, 140, 170,...) where you'll split time once you cross the finish line.
For the games where you'll split once you've finished all tracks of a flags category (Nations, Valley, Stadium & Canyon), split once you cross the finish line and follow the instructions below.
Between two flags or two environments, there will be some time where who you won't be loading maps or playing these maps so I've made transition splits. A transition will start once you cross the last map of a flag (White, Green,...) or of an environment on TMTurbo (1 transition every 10 maps on Turbo). The transition will have to end when you press play on the following map so you must split there. This way if you play long speedruns, you can add your times for smaller parts of the speedrun on speedrun.com. I.E if you do the fullgame speedrun, you'll be able to submit your run for the White Flags speedrun category, the Green Flags one...
5) It is currently impossible to compare live two speedruns, so contestants will be informed about other contestants performances by spectators or by the contestants themselves through Discord voice chat (https://discord.me/tmspeedrun). Because of that, if you can't take part to a speedrun category you like, you can start your speedrun at any time, but you'll be alone and you won't be able to compare yourself to others during the run.
6) For viewers, to see multiple contestants at the same time, I recommand you to use https://www.multitwitch.tv/twitchuserna ... husername2...
7) I know loading times on TMTurbo and TM² series vary from a player to another but it will not make that much of a difference. Set graphic settings as low as possible but keep the game nice to see so don't force yourself to disable some graphic settings. On Speedrun.com, when you'll share your speedrun, for TM Turbo only, map times will be counted for the WR ranking. However, for this event, and for SRL races, the winner of each speedrun category will be the first one to complete all tracks WITH loading times! Of curse you can take a break during the event but it is not recommended if you want to finish 1st!
