Re: Last preview for Maniaplanet 4
yes, but not in the channels. They are designed to scale accordingly to number of users and provide an automated and hopefully stable environnment that does not depends too much on current server status

>Each program is based on a Title-Pack.
1. Are only base titles (Stadium, Canyon, Valley - in case of TrackMania) available?
And we only have the ability to create unique program channels by selecting the game mode and with maps by selecting their style and difficulty?
2. Or are custom user made Title Packs possible?
Will the selected maps have access to the mods, signs, skins and scripts inside the user made title pack?
3. If yes, can we use already created Title Packs?
Are they compatible (for example the RPG title) or do we need to create new Title Packs with a special user interface (to run the maps/servers)?

Re: Last preview for Maniaplanet 4
The answer is 2, that's where there is a good power to combine channels and title packs.
For 3, it depends if it's compatible with MP4 (not all titles will be) If it is, then it should be able to run with the channels. It's possible that the modes needs to include some code to share some information with the channel, like to have a ranking or enable players to move from servers to servers depending on the rules.

Re: Last preview for Maniaplanet 4
So, the channels are like rooms of Turbo, but scheduled (either one time event or repetitive)?
Do the channel requester also need to give a track list at the requesting time?
E.g. list of ManiaExchange IDs?
What will Nadeo exactly do here?
Because the channel management looks like a lot of effort.
And what about "admins"? E.g. chat or game supervision, in case some silly people absolutely need to cause trouble?

Re: Last preview for Maniaplanet 4
The players can basically set up everything: server matchsettings, map lists and probably admin rights sooner or later etc. Nadeo will first be in contact with them to 'activate' their program into episodes each week. It's indeed an additionnal selection thing to be do, like an editorial selection, but that can probably be a good first step to increase the quality and simplicity of choice for less experienced players.
Re: Last preview for Maniaplanet 4
What about existing cups, e.g. Smurfscups? Do you think it would be advisable for them to switch to the new channel thing? Perhaps as showcase or as prototypes?

Re: Last preview for Maniaplanet 4
that's a good example. Having one big cup on a regular basis, around fun, that can set up maplist for bronze/silver/gold and have weekly results loged officialy in the channel is a good vision of what a program can be. But there is a lot of work to be done to reach that point, like what you do when you are eliminated etc.
