To pay or not to pay (thats the question)

Re: To pay or not to pay (thats the question)
again, 15 environments is an idea (call it a dream ^_^), not a today fact. It is for years a little like desert, snow and rally that were sold first at 45€, then island, bay and coast for 45€ and then 40€ for the engine update. It was somehow 130€ for 6 environments (and a free one) and engine update. So, we just designed a more balanced way, in our eyes, to make the game live for that time.

well those updates you referred to where made in almost 9 years so lets say €140/6 = average of €23.33 per environment then divided by +- 9 years of updates. is €2.59 euros per year for one environmental update.
In that case im agree with nadeo that in point of view is reasonable to ask money for updates of environmental view and bugs etc. are made on a free basis.

I think that just the right way Hylis. On top of that you can make per enviroment assasments to improve the follow ups. The same applies for the development of the dedicated. Brilliant plan.Hylis wrote:again, 15 environments is an idea (call it a dream ^_^), not a today fact. The idea of making this like some sort of WoW is bad.
TM has always been the game that had free options, like the Forever Update (althought I never played TMNESWC). and the Star Edition.
The idea of paying env on it's own is quite bad for me. Maybe a solution to bundle this as an expansion? Like Guild Wars did with Guild Wars, Guild Wars Factions, Guild Wars Nightfall , Guild Wars Eye of The North.
People would rather buy it then => they don't have any limitations than the rest, because the "expansion" ain't out yet.

Yeah, but you have to look at the environments as singel addons to the indivudal games. And, as it was posted, one environment will be more than, what we understand nowadays under one environment. And do you really pürefere to wait 9 months (~20 bucks) to get the next one? Or 18 months (~40 bucks) to get two environments, just to get them in a box, for the same price as if you are buying them alone?RobJ wrote:The idea of making this like some sort of WoW is bad.

The Environments are not planned as Addons to a full game. They are more like sinlge versions with maniaplanet in each, so that they get combined to one game.
As always I can't find the post hylis said that... :/

I really feel like I should donate Nadeo some money, I've had far to much fun playing TM games and it only cost me about £30 for TMU... TMN was free and so was the upgrades!!
