Yeah. I used to play on Max settings, but unfortunately the new update came with new textures that made Stadium look unbearably jaggy. I remembered that fast shaders come with MSAA options and tried everything maxed out with fast shaders, and it actually looks a lot better than very nice shaders. There's no more ugly road reflection texture, no more jaggy loops and other areas. Everything looks so smooth, and it runs a lot more stable than very nice shaders with FXAA (and I'm using MSAA 8x). I'd say if you can do without motion blur and some better looking rock shading, give that a try. If you put shadows on high, you get the same unified lighting you get on nice shaders, too.

Hey, I haven't played any of the tracks since the MP4 update yet, so I can't comment on the physics etc., but I have a question:
Was the update really supposed to WIPE ALL MY MEDALS??? My whole progress in all three environments is gone, the only medals remaining are on the tracks on which I had times in the official mode.
Was that supposed to happen? If not, is there still hope for me to recover the medals?

OK, I realised that now there is no training mode and this is the reason why I lost my medals on tracks where I did not set a record in official mode.
However, I stumbled upon a new problem: changing settings in the config menu that pops up before the game starts has no effect on the game. Regardless of what changes I make in the config, the game just stays at the previous settings. Because of this, I cannot enable the high resolution textures. I can change some graphics settings in the options menu in the game itself, but they again revert to what was previously set after quitting the game and starting it again.
Also, CrossFire does not work. I have it globally enabled in the AMD drivers but still only one graphics card works when Maniaplanet is turned on.

Regarding the launcher, did you try to set high resolution there? There is a switch for "High definition".

Do you perhaps have different Maniaplanet setups in parallel?

In rare cases it was possible that a setting was not persisted in the past, most likely the Bloom.
After deleting the file Default.SystemConfig.Gbx which gets created automatically again, such issues were gone (mostly until the next bigger update).

I reinstalled the game and it works fine now.
I have been playing TrackMania 2: Lagoon like crazy. It is amazing, everything meets the standards set by Canyon, Stadium and Valley. The music is mesmerising. There's just one problem I have found: On B07 there is this awesome section when you drive down on horizontal magnet roads and there is a jump where the slope with blue magnets makes your car "fall" back onto the track. There seems to be a speedbug here - after landing from this jump the car often slows down quite significantly for no reason.
On this same track it also happened to me once that just before one of those peaks in magnet roads my car was not pulled by the blue magnets and instead just flew up into the sky. :roflol:

It's great you got it working now

Regarding your flyoff, if you could reproduce it, and even upload a replay, this would be great :)

Besides this, happy driving in Lagoon :pil
