Flashing screen after update

Applied the update , then after restarting the screen is flashing , with the Quit window presented. See

No other option but to quit.

which input devices do you have?
Disconnect them all except keyboard and mouse and try again.

Normal Logitech gamepad. Seems to have had something to do with not being connected to a server. Was clicking "Cancel" repeatedly while trying to see what's on screen before the quit message blocks it, said something like "Unable to load .... must connect once....". Looked at my player page, seemed ok. Googled a bit, saw a link to MP4 player page and logged in there.

Now I can at least start MP without the flashing screen. Updated Canyon and Stadium titles, but if I click on the Trackmania 2 title, it says "You do not have access to Trackmania2 Lagoon. Please enter a key....."

Well, Lagoon will be released today, and you accidentally (?) selected a server that uses multiple titles.
But, at the moment, for you, if you're not participant of the beta, or later without owning Lagoon, using such a server is unfortunately not possible.

Not sure how the main Trackmania 2 title can be seen as accidental

Actually that title does not work properly anymore, it needs to be updated by Nadeo, after the release of Lagoon.
I fear we have to wait here.

Ok, seems that my install is totally screwed after the mP4 update. What would be the best way to start from scratch ? I own all the titles to date (incl Shootmania, though I don't play that) . All were digital downloads , except Lagoon , which was purchased via Uplay. Is there a full MP4 install available somewhere ?

As far as I know there is only the small installer available at the moment.
If you were able to purchase all titles and register them to your Maniaplanet account, you might be able to uninstall everyhting, and do a fresh install of Maniaplanet. Let it download the titles you own.
And then you could add your personal stuff from a backup.
