I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments about Intros being somewhat important to a track's 'theme' and style as a whole, what confuses me more is that Intro sequences have a hidden hard 20 second limit now which bugs me even more, and despite this Intros work fine online, even though that will be where many people will skip them in order to have more time to drive the track while there's still time in the match anyway
I know that this may be a question being buried under other questions, and that this may not be as noteworthy as some more crucial fixes others may have reported, but for a game that is not only about, but positvely boasts about player and community creativity, limiting the time of an intro sequence and only showing it in a game-mode where others prefers to race moreso than watch camerawork is a little baffling. Sure it saves time offline but at what cost to the people who lovingly craft these routes and tracks, as well as the camerawork, typography and 'hype' making that they do with their tracks?
