This feature will be back as soon as possible. I had replied this question on French forums (viewtopic.php?p=285952#p285952) and I though having replied on English ones as well.
Adding buddy slots will be available as soon as possible as well.

And which feature from "MP3 maniahome" (or maybe you refer to the player page?) are you missing as well?
