UDP Initialization failed

Post by TitoOn »

Hello,

I've got a problem with some servers.

When I try to connect, the game receive informations from the server, display players, maps, description,... But when I try to join the server, the game tells me "UDP Initialization failed".

I tested on the same installation, same pc but not the same connection and it worked...
However, I didn't change anything about my connection's settings since the update to mp4 but it doesn't work on certain servers anymore...

Can anyone help me pls ?

Thanks,

TitoOn

Is UDP also enabled for Maniaplanet? Please check your firewall, and also the router, if "multimedia connections" are enabled or disabled there.

Same Error...
Seriously this NEEDS TO BE FIXED, this method of multiplayer is ancient and buggy, not to mention the TCP backup was REMOVED from the game when MP4 was introduced.... (apparently)
I have port forwarded successfully, but the servers still will not work, I port forwarded for 2350-2450, 3450-3550
I get a little questionmark next the the link icon in the top bar in game, everytime I connect I get the "UDP initialization failed" message
I have completely disabled windows firewall, with no effect either
I used this site to check my port forwarding was working:
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
it only worked for 2350 and 3450, no other ports when I set it up (not 2351 OR 3451, etc...) anyway my port forwarding is broken and I've spent over 41 hours trying to solve this flipping problem, if support with the windows command line helps that would be nice, though only official NADEO employees seem to be able to help here, as its hard to tell what's being blocked outbound.
Also my ping is around 420, don't know if that would cause problems, but then it would kick me for high ping after successfully connecting...
Just bought this game for the multiplayer, so far its a failure...
