Hi,
Just wondering how I can recover my TRACKMANIA 2 STADIUM key.
I am able to login to my account via maniaplanet and play the game fine. The issue is that I have an old old email address associated with the account (which I still have access too) which I would like to update. When I try, it requires a VALIDATION CODE. To get that I need to input my PLAYER KEY.
Additionally all this information is needed to use most third party car models etc etc.
I have contacted ubisoft support but after a week of going in circles they gave me my trackmania turbo key instead ????
Anyway, please note, as I purchased TM2 STADIUM many many years ago I do not have the receipt activation key emails but do have current access to play.
Fearing the same run around as this guy: viewtopic.php?f=264&t=41550&p=286913&hilit=key#p286913 I am trying to find the most efficient way to recover my key. Do I need that same email pm'ed to this guy?
Thank you

Re: [TM2] KEY : Recovering key
Well this is the reply I got from ubisoft support:
"Hello again,
As your game is not linked to Uplay we would not be able to recover your key. Without a screenshot of your receipt from your purchase of the game we would not be able to provide you with a new key.
If you can provide me with a screenshot showing your purchase of the game I can request a new key for you. Otherwise we will not be able to provide you with a key for Trackmania 2.
My apologies for any inconvenience."
I purchased TM2 I dont know how many years ago! I do not have a receipt. How do I recover my key?
Is this what happens when another company takes over the reigns of another companies game?
Why cant I just get a recovery sent to the registered email address the original receipt was sent to? No one else has access to it.
Re: [TM2] KEY : Recovering key
Don't you remember where you had purchased the key exactly? Try to get a proof of purchase from themy by addressing the corresponding sales support.
You have to understand that the Ubisoft account support is being flooded with presumed lost of account details queries, and that they can only sort out real and sincere queries with the original proof of purchase.

Re: [TM2] KEY : Recovering key
Well I finally got a key sent to me.
While I appreciate your thoughts to the situation and I would agree with your statement, there are more than just one way to recover an individuals purchase details.
Considering I am playing game currently and have been since purchasing years ago Ii is rather frustrating to think that if i had to reformat my pc, for instance, that I would need to purchase the game again.
A majority of other games can recover credentials to the registered email address which seems not to be an option here.
Additionally, key details were overlooked from the beginning rendering an unneeded and prolonged conversation/investigation.
While researching this topic I found continual reference to the inadequacies of ubisoft and see why.
Pity....

Re: [TM2] KEY : Recovering key
Certainly the key retrieval process could be easier or quicker, with different methods, in game and with the website, without need to contact the support, but Ubisoft has apparently a reason why they afford the extra work also for themselves.
Not to sound harsh, but it seems you're looking to blame only the game managers, where you have apparently done the most basic error yourself.
Already back in time, at the purchase, it was told to keep the proof of purchase and the key at a safe place. Didn't you do that?
I'm wondering how many other keys you have been missing now...
Besides that, normally no one needs to reformat the PC, and even before doing that, I do a backup.
This is also a common and general recommendation, even without planning to format your system: Do backups on regular basis!
At least it's good you have your key back

Re: [SOLVED][TM2] KEY : Recovering key
Im not making any excuse for my negligence but this was an item purchased at its release in 2011.
I would find it hard to believe that over that period of time anyone in this world would have or could have misplaced or lost a piece of information (were not talking about a birth certificate or passport here (although those get misplaced also)
Regarding a backup, The percentage of people that would backup specifically their files on a pc specific to a particular application is minimal. When you have the simple option to reinstall it and input your key, why go through the extra effort to do anything else. And its not just reformatting a pc, that was merely 1 scenario. Lord forbid the game updates and screws something up rendering a simple uninstall and reinstallation. I would have been shit out of luck.
So when was the last time you forgot a password to an old account and had to recover it your email address? Just curious.....

Re: [SOLVED][TM2] KEY : Recovering key
Luckily a password recovery is working fine and easy in most cases.
But you know well yourself that this is not the same as a lost key and lost proof of purchase.
A password only shows you're the owner of an account.
But only the key and the proof of purchase show you're really eligible to have this product on your account.

Well I can go down to my bank and recover accounts with less information. Lucky ubisoft and nadeo only deal with games!
