A few things Maniaplanet is doing wrong
Image
Key points
  • inconsistent interfaces
  • jargon
  • stadium's interface look clean; except profile which uses MP's interface
  • not pictured: way to much animation in MP's interface
What Nadeo could learn from its previous games

Key points
  • consistent interfaces
  • simple and (mostly) clean interfaces
Ideally, Maniaplanet's interface should match Stadium's (and the other default title pack's) interface. As it is now, it is cluttered, user-unfriendly and is in need of an update.

naboo pls fix

Maniaplanet in general is extremely unfriendly to new users. The UI is all over the place, any explanation to anything is hidden in the documentation, which is also obscure. Nothing is told to the player. Titles (which are probably the main part of maniaplanet) and titlepacks aren't even explained. Nadeo, if you want people to buy your games, you need to tell users what they're buying.

I personally think they're should be a small tutorial, simply showing what everything is.

If the UI requires a tutorial, something is horribly wrong. Good UI should be intuitive to use.

Then please have a look here: https://doc.maniaplanet.com/

The documentation was reworked and is constantly being updated.

If you want to help and provide a understandable documentation, you could contribute :)

This thread was aimed at the unintuitive and schizophrenic UI of Maniaplanet, not its modding features. While those features are great and have good documentation, it doesn't make the UI userfriendly for beginners... The topic of this thread isn't lack of features or support for them, it's how different the UI for every part of Maniaplanet is, and how this is obstructing new players from participating by creating a very steep learning curve.

You are asking for a tutorial, and the Maniaplanet documentation page is the right place for that.
The wiki was merged there and it also explains the client.
Now it is up to the users - to us - to mention where there is a lack of documentation.
And you can even write documentation yourself, and if it is good enough, it will be taken.
Do you want to help, or only complain?
