Titlepack Updates: Header size too "huge" - Nadeo pls :halp:

Post by Skyslide »

Code: Select all

File Name:	RPG@tmrpg.Title.Pack.Gbx
File Size:	3.45 GB
File Type:	NadeoPak
------------------------------------------------------------------
Pack Version:	18
Decrypt Flags:	00000006
Header Size:	01000000 (huge)
i read that checksum download and compare time is about 10seconds.. ?
well rpg is now very big, and if we change "1" block, people need to download whole pack again (3,5gb +) just for one change
we need a new maximum of that timelimit, 10s for "huge" header is way too short as you can see , we are not able to update RPG anymore with this method, people will run away if they see update of 4gb every week!

compared to ESL:

Code: Select all

File Name:	ESL_Competition.Title.Pack.Gbx
File Size:	249 MB
File Type:	NadeoPak
------------------------------------------------------------------
Pack Version:	18
Decrypt Flags:	00000006
Header Size:	00100000 (big)

well that's not true.
There's a first 10s timeout to establish the connection and get the first few bytes.
And then up to 2 minutes to download the header. should be plenty for <16Mb.

But I'll increase the values, because actually 2mn isn't enough with very slow connections.
(but then the download really is going to take forever..)

But maybe the actual problem is not a timeout problem, maybe there's something else?

So far it is not possible to create subpackages because when ever you want to include something using pack creator game crashes.

Hmm. When including other packs, the contents is included in the main pack, so I failed to see how it chould help here.
(that is, including say a maps or items pack in the a title pack, the files are extracted from the subpacks and flatten into the main pack hierarchy. Only when including skins or mod they are kept in a "one container file" form.)
