ManiaPlanet 4 => The reason it's so hard to come back to this game ...?

Hi All,

It was a long time I didn't play Shootmania / TrackMania. So, one month ago I decided to try and see if this game is still alive.

I was surprised to see friends still playing here, I was very enjoyed to join them for being able to play with them.

So I installed Maniaplanet, I tried to join a server.... And there is the drama ... The game is asking me to "pay" for being able to play games I was already playing by the past ????

Ok ... why not ... But when I want to pay ... I cannot use my Planets ... a code is asked to me !!! ????

I play several other games on very popular platform, never a such code is asked !

I tried to get this validation code ... But nothing on the interface to help on this point ... Or didn't find it.

Why are you setting so many difficulties to play your games ?

I was playing other titles from Blizzard or Epic Games, and all is done to facilate the game experience and the accessibility ...

Why are you killing yourself your own game ???

The validation code is needed, this is all.
And if you had uninstalled the game, it apparently needs to know that you are the right one to use your planets.
See it as two-step-verification: 1 the account 2 the validation code.

Nothing to worry about that, it has been like this always for Maniaplanet, not related to the MP4 version only!

Regarding the newer interface and the channels, yes, this is a dramatic change.
But you can invite your friends to play there for free, they only have to install the basic game, and let download the channels specific files (which can be one of the titles and mods etc.).

Did you purchase the titles in the past?
If yes, did you use your existing account after the recent reinstallation?
If not, shame on you, you enjoyed long enough

Probably it depends on the titles. Some are free, some are "pay per download" (only few planets).
Except the original Nadeo titles of course.

What can also happen: if you came back to the game after a very long time,
you probably don't have some of the newer titles. And then you might have to pay for those.

Nadeo doesn't want to see that !

I keep hearing that from new players as well, yes.. hopefully Nadeo is doing some of these much needed improvements for new (and returning) players with Maniaplanet 5.. whenever that's coming.
