100MB Steam Workshop filesize limit

Post by BestNoob »

@Nadeo
Why didnt you lift up the Steam Workshop Filesizelimit or set it to average 300MB ?
As i know up to 1GB is free for you as developer as cloud & workshop space.

Or concider to share things on community websites,
For your maps : https://tm.mania-exchange.com/
For your skins/objects/mods etc:
http://www.maniapark.com/

That saves space on your workshop and its easier for the rest of the community to dl your creations!

Its a CLICK for admin/nadeo in their steam developer area. And again there is no reason why NOT xD there is no reason space doesnt cost monay.
And like i said how can nadeo force ppl to low res mods or small when their own envi doesnt give the option to do. Cut creativity , cut modders, cut everything xD

You know that Steam players are isolated from retail ? Thats in ever game with every game the same.
Like nadeo splitted the players to the Titles they split players between steam/retail

Reason: ppl who play on steam doesnt care or know about mania exchange when there is a steam workshop, and most are to lazy to check alternatives
And retail doesnt care about Steam workshop because, they cant use it.

And you have more and better overview in steam workshop than in maniapark, maniapark grows old and dusty, and they have stupid rules for envi mods.
When i publish a mod or other thimngs than moddb and upload to google drive or dropbox.

That saves space on your workshop and its easier for the rest of the community to dl your creations!
For most ppl steam is gaming profile presentation no.1 specially for workshop files.
And you cannot "save" space because there is no limitation for workshop stuff, only that what developers set as upload limit.
The limitation is by developers not by steam, like cloudsave is also a free to use feature (up to xxxx MB developers can enable it for free for the players)

Doesnt cost nadeo/ubi a single cent. (its a few years ago that i created game stuff and used developer area but i think they havent changed it xD)

Well, its up to you what you prefer, communitystuff or steamstuff :)
Most players play Maniaplanet without steam anyway, besides, you as steamplayer can also easily download the standalone version and not be dependent on steamstuff.
If you think stuff is old or dusty, ask the mx crew or maniapark crew how hard they work on stuff, and give them your opinions. Maybe you have some ideas to make it less old or dusty. And perhaps you can even work with them, how cool is that!

I will always prefer things made by players instead of big companies, but like said the choice is yours!
