TM2 Lagoon physics

Post by RXDimA »

Quite a rough landing on C07 with full throttle at the beginning in Lagoon after the MP4.1 update. I remember it being smoother than the crash-land that happens now. Or is it supposed to be like that?

The physics were slightly altered due to code change, resulting in PF starts to not work properly anymore. A similar thing can be observed on Lagoon E04 for instance. Nothing you can do about it sadly, except for trying your best to avoid a terrible landing somehow...

I wondered why i'm having a bad time with Lagoon E04 when in your blind run it seemed PF...

Edit : also the E05 FW jump (leap i should say) seems wonkier than it used to

Re: TM2 Lagoon physics/WorldRecords?

Hi,

my thought about this. When the physics changed, the Worldrecords should be reseted, too! ;)

I agree with that. While changes are usually done in a way that makes times faster there are instances where they may not be. (IE: PF-starts)

I disagree - you'd be erasing a valuable part of history. The only time I think they should be reset is if the new physics make you slower so that the old records are literally unbeatable.

Good point. It would be a shame for someone who worked hard to set a record to lose that recognition.
So how can it be determined that based on a physics change an old record can never be broken?
By vote? By amount of passed time?

When MP4 released, it was pretty obvious from the beginning that old Canyon records are very easily beaten. I wonder if something like that as ever happened though - unbeatable records after a physics change.
