[TM2] Other - CD Key Authentication

I recently purchased TM2 Stadium from Steam. I want to connect the CD Key that comes with the Steam version to my account at maniaplanet, but when I go to copy/paste the key into this box: http://www.maniaplanet(dot)com/account/game-key, I get the following message:

"The key was not associated to your account: This game key is already used."

Any help you all can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Did you already install and run Stadium from Steam?
Did you use your existing Maniaplanet account or did you create a new one?
The Steam version of Maniaplanet automatically assigns the key to the first account which is used there!

Yes, I have done that. I used my preexisting ManiaPlanet account. Maybe it is then? But if that's the case why can't I change my vehicles skin?

Once the key was activated and registered, you can use the regular Maniaplanet client, the Steam version can be uninstalled.

In Stadium, in the profile, you should now be able to change the skin.
Try first with the existing ones.
And then look at tm-mania-exchange.com for new skins.
