Darn, oh well thanks for clarifying. Glad you got audio working for your copy! I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it from my end. I miss playing TM2, but it's not the same without any audio.

Oh my mistake, I thought you had said you got it working. But yeah, I noticed the same thing. If I delete the openal_bundled.dll file, the sound comes back, but then MP wants to update (and restore the deleted .dll, getting rid of my sound again). Even after deleting the .dll, though, I did notice that the car engine noises don't work. :/

Which Maniaplanet are you actually running?
Maniaplanet.exe (64bit)?
Try to run Maniaplanetlauncher32.exe and Maniaplanet32.exe.

Re: Maniaplanet no sound [solved]
Hi TMarc,
For reference, here's what I'm seeing. In my Steam folder, I'm seeing these files:
When I run any of those highlighted exe files, I get this Steam error:
(Except the ManiaPlanetLauncher.exe, which gives me the regular launcher, , but then if I click "Play", it gives me the same Steam error from above.)
Finally, I could maybe try to run Trackmania in 64-bit mode if there's a launch command to do so?
Hope the screenshots help.
Edit: Additionally, for reference, here are my audio options.
