Maniaplanet performance-issues on gaming pc

Hello there,
I recently bought a new gaming pc (win 10 64bit ; 16 gb ram , gtx 1080 , i7 generation 8) and installed Maniaplanet on it.
A big problem I have is that Maniaplanet at 4k-monitor activated 4k res does not run fluently (around 40 to 60 fps) although there is yet lots of ram unused.
Normally the PC should say: Oh the programm can not run fluently so let's use more ram. But it does not do it.
It always stays between 900 mb and 1800 mb.
How can I make maniaplanet use more?
Or is there another possible reason why the game does not run faster?

Did you install Maniaplanet fresh on the new PC, or did you just copy all your files to it?
Reason: the new PC also needs a new maniaplanet configuration.

The memory usage of the game is not necessarily an indication of the performance it should have.
The textures are downloaded into the video ram.

Is your 4k screen capable of running with 30, 60, or even higher fps?
I have seen screens which have only 30fps in 4k resolution.

Which connection are you using? HDMI (check for a new cable?) or Display Port (preferred connection)?
