Lightning issues with (Super)Magnet physics in blocks, maybe sunset mood issue too w/ mod

Hi,

I've some strange lightning issues on 2/3 items that are all vanilla initially. Two of them just have a material i created applied to them (TechSuperMagnetic physics w/ Arena Texture) in Canyon. The other is just some elements removed. Here are the screenshots of the 2 issues :

I guess for the 2nd screenshot, the arena flat block has this issue because the lightning seems to only be calculated in half the block, split diagonally and then a symmetry is applied. Maybe it's fixable by merging faces but it won't let you do it 99% of the time.

For the elements placed outside of the normal area where you can build i assume it's normal there's lightning issues, if not well i also have this issue but i can only share this item in private.

For the sunset thing, i saw this thread. I'm using a mod in sunset mood so maybe that's the issue. Edit : It's not, tried in sunrise and seems like the issue is also there, just a bit less visible (yellow instead of brown/black).
Also tried without mod, issue is still there.

Hello Harest,

I checked quickly what the problem was and it comes from both of your Arena item (the Tube is okay) : they have bad lightmaps.
This may happen because of overlapping edges or faces, non well connected faces, etc.
I wonder why the lightmap calculator is confused by these...
For example, for the simple Arena item of yours, replacing the 2 triangle faces on top by a quad fixes it...

Well, like i said in the OP i only edited the material in both Arena items. Otherwise it's just items created from the vanilla blocks.
There shouldn't have any overlapping & cie in the vanilla blocks i guess. Good to know for the flat arena one still, that's one out of 3 items fixed o/. Edit : Replacing the 2 triangles by quad, you meant deleting the 2 faces with del key and replacing one (selecting the 4 edges + clicking fill hole)?

Good luck finding from where the issue comes from, hopefully before the end of the year Image. Otherwise i'll have to do a trick like copying the curved arena block, remove all the faces but the top and let it with arena texture, no collision, and put it over each block. Hopefully it'll be less ugly than it currently is.

Edit : I'll had others lightning issues that popped up too. For the first screenshot, no additional block were added between these on the screenshot and the sun light source.

Except the curved blocks which are special cf OP, all these are vanilla blocks.

In this second screenshot, we've an embedded item (taken from a flat arena block initially and made myself with TechSuperMagnetic physics), followed by vannila flat arena blocks.

Edit 2 : Tried to fix the flat arena block with TechSuperMagnet Physics. At least i tried :lol: (item).
