Only a suggestion. I've been thinking about this for a long time and it would been cool if this was happend in tm2.
What if we could have Rain and Snow on the different mods Sunrise/Sunset/Night/Day? which we choose and we don't need any mt effect for it. It's like an option if you want it or not. Sry for my bad english.
Rain/Snow Effect.

Re: Rain/Snow Effect.
At the very least Shootmania:Storm better have rain. Hopefully that adds w/e tech is needed to have rain in Valley. Rain in Canyon might be weird given the climate, but I wouldn't mind lightning/thunder.

Re: Rain/Snow Effect.
I do agree, it would allow us to have more variety in term of environments and moods without adding too much work for the devs (a graphical effect for rain, and probably a bunch of textures too for snow), or at least much less than a whole new environment.
Besides, even if I personally don't think it's a very important feature, reviewers seem to think it is. For example in a preview written on gamekult (a rather important French site) one of the only complaints they have is "Tout le monde déplorera en revanche l'absence d'effets météo qui auraient sans doute pu apporter un peu de piment supplémentaire. "which roughly translates to "everyone will be disappointed by the lack of weather effects which would surely have spiced up the game".
And I'm pretty sure going from a 8/10 to a 7/10 on such a website could mean hundreds or thousands of people not buying the game.

I'd say, usualy it's allready hard enough to keep the car on a dry track, let alone a wet or snowy one....

Yes, but the trick is, TM is all about -visuals-. They don't even have car-to-car collision.zarexz wrote:I'd say, usualy it's allready hard enough to keep the car on a dry track, let alone a wet or snowy one....

This is what i'm talking about. Even with the rain, snow or any other effect the car handling can be the sameTrackmaniack wrote: But it doesn't have to be reflected in the PHYSICS engine. The handling could be -unchanged-.

Re: Rain/Snow Effect.
That's a good idea, but I would think about to do it in the mediatracker.
What I mean is that there's another option like Rain and you can mark the area where lightnings and thunders come.
The snow effect is also a great idea, because I saw only two times snow in TrackMania.
Btw, I am building a map with Rain FX. I made a screenshot of it.

More about in my signature.
