Manialive Extending Plugin Pack R935 Public Beta...

We had it in a earlier release for trackmania forever. For the current TM² it will not be added to the pack but it can be added in a seperate plugin.

The local records saving is problem with the latest svn, we (mlepp developers) have come in to the thinking that the new manialive itself is bugged really bad!

Many things that worked in r251 just doesn't work right in the newer versions!
Also backwards compatibility has been lost, this means that mlepp has to stop supporting TMNF.

The new database class has problems, that's why the local records are not saved.

to ManiaLive developers:

I'm getting really frustrated to the new situation with manialive development. Really.
There are bugs reported way back then, even with proposed patch given to fix those, but nothing has changed for months.

Therefore I, w1lla and nouse made decision that mlepp will not support the newer SVN versions of manialive - will use the r251 until the core itself is stable again and we can rely that if we call something in the core it will work right. So we will wait until the launch of maniaplanet and do mlepp development against the manialive r251 until then. So if you need to break more structures, please do so now when there are only few developers to do plugins. Please apply the little patches, like the line break for writing logs, reading the logs are really pain without line breaks.

Sorry for ranting, but since the new situation you created, this is the only way to provide the community a working server controller they can rely on.

@reaby: I don't really understand your frustration because I don't know what bugs you're talking about (except line breaks in logs, I noticed it but forgot to fix it...) If they were reported a long time ago, I'm not aware of them and searching in forums and in googlecode issues would be too long.
If there are indeed bugs I'm not aware of, I would be pleased to correct them

About the (not so new) database class (from what I saw, it's been here for a long time but now is just easier to use in plugins), it's exactly the same in r251 and r255 so if it worked in r251, there is no reason it won't in r255. I tested it with the Standard\MapVote plugin when I changed configuration and everything went fine.


Btw, the new configuration and system and some other changes will be merged later in forever branch so plugins will be compatible as long as they're not using ManiaPlanet functions
