Whats wrong?
the brakes are absolubtley shit. Fitting the cars with parachutes would be more effective. Sure they get you into a drift easy but if you actually *want* to slow down..
well, you get the idea. That and the car is useless at low speed.
Every track feels like full speed, which even in TMNF I find to be boring and tedious. Its not challenging to drive full speed and it's not fun. Given previous point about brakes and low speed, what is left?

I am not satisfied with the level of customization, but since ManiaScript is still in development (kind of) i cant blame it (yet)

Let my see what i do not like
Camera view 1 To low view option to set it like you want will by nice
No support for controllers outside the game pad Steerweel ???? Joystick????? Poor
For my the wheels have to turn 3 or 5 degrees more , i think the turn now at the total 10 degrees max ???
Do not understand why ???? (yes i do only made for gamepad and keyboard)
To many Full speed drift maps ...... i hope it change
Only Rounds and Time Attack >>>>>Pffffff >>>> To many players on 1 server >>>>> LAG problems , so best is to drive with player view off , but where is the Fun ??? to drive alone ??? >>>> Auto kick for players with to high ping
But i keep on playing it , and look forward to other environments

@Cam1 too low: We all have to live with that
@Wheels have to turn 3 or 5° more: Live with that or drift.
@Not support for controllers: There is support
@Too many fullspeed drift maps: We map builders build our maps according to the car and according to the blocks. If the car is very fast and drifts very nice we build fullspeed drift maps. Don't expect Snow tracks to be like Stadium tracks and don't expect Coast tracks to be like Island tracks.
@Only rounds and time attack: We are in the B E T A. The game is not even out yet. Please have patience
@Too many players on 1 server: Press O.
@Where is the fun? If you have no fun without driving against opponents it probably is because of the track.
@Autokick for too high Ping: Why? in TM there are no collisions and what others do does not influence you. Ping is the last thing that matters in TM online play

the question of the original post is not what you find from other people opinions

Re: Question to all TM2 players--what's wrong with Canyon?
This. I like TM2 and price is okay, but after waiting so long on this (and reading things like "the time for make one environment of TM2, it's the same than 10 environments of TM1") it's a little bit disappointing because it just feels like a new envi for TMU with some better graphics. It's more like TMU 1.5 and not TM2. maybe i'll change my mind with full version on release and when people build better maps, don't know...TGYoshi wrote: But yea, it more feels like a new envi for TMU and a DB reset then a new game.

Doesn't get a much better explanation than this. Thanks, Florent! ^_^Hylis wrote:
Very nice article
When I design a gameplay, I sometimes try to have some specific things to it. One is what ThatOneGuy says:â€it adds an extra element of skill in trying to determine “when and how much†letting off the gas or braking to apply on those blocks.â€
What makes me chuckle a little is that I am looking after making a little more dangerous blocs for the two lanes roads. Because of a later change of gameplay, they are a little too easy in my eyes. The goal is not to make a difficult game, because it ultimately rely on the track and the opponents, but to make blocs where your average speed has to be lower to survive. In real world, if you are on a narrow road that is bumpy, you will not go fullspeed. This is the same idea here, and it was not really used before in one of the seven previous environments.
It combines well with the long duration turbos. They are here to give you even more power, but even more speed to adjust with the brakes. And I think it is a good envrionment to fit this ingredient since the brake is less use for turn because when you have to take a sharp turn, you often better drift.
Thank you for the benefit of the doubt, but making a gameplay and knowing what will happen out of months of map making and community building knowledge of driving skill is too much to predict. But it was difficult to predict for the previous ones as well, so it seems to be what it becomes and that players likes more what they know more. I made the island, bay and coast gameplays in the same single game and I survived ^_^

Re: Question to all TM2 players--what's wrong with Canyon?
+1 and I'll add my thanks Florent!
I'm getting more used to and enjoying a lot the challenge that comes with the narrow roads. I'm still getting used to wallrides/loops and my massive inability to not drift on them
but I'm getting better... except for the new long diagonal loops - those still kick my butt. I do look forward to the day I can take those as well as the driver in SiH's video.
Yes, that will be an awesome day. Maybe by the time the game is actually released!

then only things I dislike in Canyon are cam1 (too low), cam7 (no instant track overview)
still hoping for more cams in release...
