is there any possibility to reduce the map size? it takes some tome for my connection to load these maps (about 300 kb) and i get many disconnects caused by this problem
in tmuf the map size was small so it was easy for my connection but now .. :S
would be nice if there is anything possible for nadeo to reduce the mapsize to half or sth ...

not possible I think, since the maps include lightmaps now.

Nadeo confirmed during the closed beta that the max. map size allowed by dedicated servers is 1 MB (was 256 KB in TMF).

Re: map size?
750KB max really since tm.mania-exchange.com only does 750. It might go up to 1Mb, but most people will get tracks from that site.Xymph wrote:Nadeo confirmed during the closed beta that the max. map size allowed by dedicated servers is 1 MB (was 256 KB in TMF).

Re: map size?
How can you tell your map size when building a map? I have started one, and in the upper right under my name is a number that changes when I add items. Currently the number 4535... Is this 4.535kb ? or is this how many items are in the map... if so what is the max size I can build to?
Thanks

Re: map size?
The number in the upper-right corner is nothing more than a guide as to how much your track "weighs." It used to be that that's how many Coppers it cost to build it, but that was nixed once Sunrise was done, to my knowledge. It serves no purposes except as to how massive the track is from the base ~1016 or so.RickTheAssassinOSS wrote:How can you tell your map size when building a map? Re: map size?
Ok thanks...
But is there a max items/size that I can make. Is it self limiting... or if i build it too big will it crash and not be playable. I hate to build it, take all that time only to have it not work because I added too many items.
Thanks again...

Re: map size?
The only limits to the editor is block space (obviously, but with a 32x32x~40 field, that's MASSIVE) and someone else's comp, though that is no fault of your own, so ;P but anyway. There truly is no limit more than the size of the environment itself.RickTheAssassinOSS wrote:Ok thanks...
