Game Not Responding

Hi, just a query to see of this has happened to anyone else. About 20 or so times now, after a race is completed the game will freeze. I waited for an hour one time to see if it was just being slow, but finally i had to alt-ctrl-del into task manager and kill it.

This only happens after a race is completed. It does not matter if I am online or not, if I am playing an offical map or not. Sometimes it will happen after the first race, sometimes I will get to race quite a few times, other times it will not freeze at all.

I have run the game with anti-virus both on and off for similar random freezes.

My system is as follows:

win 7 Ultimate SP1- fully patched
Radeon HD4600 - Catalyst Drivers 11.8
Ram 2gB

Any ideas on how to stop this mindboggingly annoying game trait would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought the game, and am experiencing the same problem. After playing 5 single player races, the game has frozen twice. On both occasions, it froze as I clicked the button to move past the medal and ranking update screen.

I've experienced exactly the same thing twice. I'm just really glad Win7 prevents any games for taking over the monitor (can always get the screen back by using ctrl+alt+del), had I still used WinXP I've probably would have had to reboot both times as the game doesn't allow me to alt+tab out when it freezes. Oh well, I digress..

I lost 2 official times today with the game freezing right at the finish line. I need a break from this game.

Program not responding I believe is really just poor programming. They should be making use of thread background programming techniques etc for and task that takes more a few milliseconds.

Hopefully there will be some patches soon to fix this if more people complain about the issue so they are aware of how come the issue is.

PS. I noticed the program goes like this while it loading tracks as well.

Try to deactivate the sound of the game, some players have a problem with this. Nadeo work on it for solve this problem.

Just to add that the same has been happening to me. Seems to just happen intermittently, certainly not regular.

I deactived the sound via the option in the game launcher to no effect.
Sadly the game still locks up randomly while playing. I'm now starting to find it hard to recall a time that I have actually exited the game by choice. I must point out, this issue has only begun to be noticed since the final version was installed.

Since I originally made this post the game has also stopped responding whilst doing the following;

Pressing the Save Icon after map editing - via mouse - 6 times
Pressing the Save Icon after generating the shadow map - via mouse - 2 times
Pressing Esc during the start race countdown - 1 time - via keyboard
