[CRASHES] TM2 - Trackmania 2 won't start [win7]

Now i had this problem with trackmania nations. The only way I could play was by typing in tmtp:\\\ into either a web browser or run. Now with this in order to get it to work I have to type maniaplanet:\\\ in order for it to work. I think this might be a firewall issue. I use f-secure as my firewall and anti virus. I think this is the issue only because it stops me from loading a game called forsaken world and this problem has already been proved to be because of f-secure. So people with problems what's your firewall/anti virus.

i too have this exact problem. i am also running windows 7 and have f-secure as internet security. i believe it is f-secure that is causing this problem as if you right click the system tray icon and unload f-secure the games both run. although i cannot work out what about f-secure is stopping it from running. hopefully someone can help with this.

I'm having the same problem on Win 7 64bit. I also run F-secure.

EDIT: Okay, as people were mentioning earlier in the thread the problem is indeed related to the F-secure antivirus/firewall program. The game works fine if you just disable F-secure for the time being.

Although, it would be nice if anyone had a solution to make it work with F-secure activated. I tried enabling it through the program itself but without progress.

I also have this exact same problem where I try to start the game and click the trackmania icon, press play, then it goes full black screen for about 1 second and proceeds to come out of trackmania as if I never pressed anything, Doesnt even register as a file being run on the task manager. What is weird is it never happened when I was trying the beta or the past few days, it only started this morning (17/09/11) where my computer crashed (my computer does it on its own not because of the game) when logging into trackmania. I had to restart but since then, be it because of an update or maybe it thinks im still logged in somehow I have experienced the same as what is described here.

I have tried the trackmania:\\\ to no avail it goes windowed black screen for a second and again its as if nothing ever happened. Running Vista 86 with updated drivers. Restarting does nothing also. Norton is also off in a attempt to make it work.

About to uninstall & reinstall see how that goes will report back.

Have you try maniaplanet:// and not trackmania://?

Do you have a crashlog in Documents/Maniaplanet/Crashlogs?

Thanks for the quick reply jonthekiller, I can say however that uninstall & reinstall worked perfectly for me and its updating now, maybe because it crashed logging in it got confused somehow, didnt try the trackmania only maniaplanet.

Hopefully it will work, if it does it again I suppose it must be an update issue.

Hi, i know i can make a shortcut and set the path to "maniaplanet:///" but every time i make it, This comes up "Can't find the file maniaplanet:///". i hope someone can help

Try to uninstall and reinstall your game (and don't make double post on different topic for the same question).
