About rank always ~seeming~ to go up until you log off

I have only been playing for two days so please take this with a grain of salt.

I have been playing multi-player races on official beginner servers. (Where are the advanced ones I wonder?)

As I play for a few hours my global rank rises after nearly every race (and I'm usually just the in middle of a 20 person pack).

I log-out then log right back in again. My score has dropped all that I gained last session and then some.

Example numbers:
Session 1: recorded a score of 12643
Session 2: come back two hours later after dinner and im at 12798 -> play for a few hours end at 11354
Log out and back in immediately and im at.... 12821

Are first it felt really good seeing that rank number go up after each round.

Now I feel like I'm being duped.

I can understand why they would design the system this way; we players love to see numbers go up and we dont usually write down where we left off when we end a session. This cushions the blow nicely.

Now that I have seen behind the curtain however, the juice doesn't hit me as hard anymore. (ノ°□°)ノ彡┻━┻

In multiplayer you didn´t have a score, you have your "Rank" and your "Ladder Points" (LP).
The 1 Player with most LP is Number 1 Ranked, The 1 with the second most LP is Rank 2 and so forth.
ATM there is no "Race of Champions", so your LP stay like they are, but others players gaining LP, wich means they rise up in the ladder, because they got more LP then you.

When "Race of Champions" is on, there will be a weekly cut of LP for everybody, so everybody has the chance in getting number 1 in the ladder. I hope you´ll understand that there are more players then just you

I think you missed the point. qbert911 said he logged out and then back in immediately.
There shouldn't have been enough time for a thousand and a half people to pass him on the ladder.

That is simply not true. I lost about a hundred LP just quitting the multiplayer server and reading the forum for like 10 minutes.

@qbert911: did you notice a loss of LP or just a decreased rank?

I was not recording Ladder Points Atarun.

When I play today I will be keep a record of global rank, LP, and times logging in and out and report back. I encourage others to do the same.

Happened to me too, Was 38th, short reboot, than I was 47th, played one match and was 44th

Don't know if the LP changed

Edit: Then restarted again, was 47th but got 12 LP more <.<
