Hi (again)

Pleased to say no further problems with installation once you gave me the link, thanks. Also no problems with the game per se either, which is great.

I do have what I suspect isn't a bug: I can't play the game on my laptop, because it insists I'm "already logged in" to my account. Is this intended? I hope this is just some bug due to, ehmm, quitting the game in an unorthodox manner! (my desktop overheated  )

This is not a bug. You have connected on your computer. Then you left the game by alt+f4, or the red cross or other way.
But for the masterserver, you're already connected that's why you need to wait few hours before connect on your laptop.
The only way is to wait (2-3 hours) and try to reconnect on your laptop and then it will work.

Thanks for the link you sent - I really appreciate your efforts. But can I ask what the source of the file is? Is it an unauthorised hack that will get me banned? If this is a bug fix why is it not the version that is downloaded when the game is purchased? Sorry - I just don't understand...

There doesn't seem to be anything specific to me in the link, so if anyone else needs it, apparently you just need to remove the old files, then replace the existing ManiaPlanetCanyon_Setup with the one here:

Hope that helps someone, and thanks in advance for any more information regarding this file and the developer's position regarding the bug and the patch. I haven't installed it yet... Not sure if I should...
