It happens randomly, I can still see the info bar at the bottom and sides but the track and the icons are gone, just a black screen. Leaving the editor and restarting it only clears it about 50% of the time and then I have to restart the whole game.
AMD Dual core X64 Athlon 4600+
2 gig ram
Nvidea 512mb 7900 GTX graphic card. Latest WHQL drivers
Windows 7 Ultimate with all updates.
It's all older stuff but TMC FLIES on it, just the editor causes a little frustration.

Re: Screen goes black in the editor (TM Canyon)
Tried it with all settings at lowest, same thing happens. Normally I would just quit the game, restart and all is well but this time I tried going to windowed mode and back and while it clears the screen, it is for a shorter time each time until the game locks up.
I've had the same thing happen now in the game itself. I can see my car and other players cars but no background, everything is black. Going to windowed mode brings it back but as above for a shorter time each time.
also,
I get a dialogue which says that framerate is low and I need to lower my settings, I do this but the dialogue comes back after a few seconds asking to lower settings further. It does this until the game locks.
Hope this helps, if you need any more info, just ask.
