1. TRACK MANIA USES DX9, so dx11 support is bedside the point, also, they support it fully.
2. Stop being biased fanboys, you sound like idiot drones
3. I have a HD6870 and it performs above and beyond, out of your quoted budget but making a point
4. A second hand 5770 will make you very happy, they were ahead of their time.
They are $100 ~ 160 new in Australia, so a second hand one will be half that!
Do not feed the trolls or they will poo on you

Hi, GeorgeFeb

Thats where you start to recognize fluid motion, human eye can see way beyond that. In movies 25-30 fps is standard, 50 fps video looks super smooth. In competitive games, that may be lower than you would want, especially in game like Quake were the vision may changes so much ( turning slowly vs. turning really really fast ). In this game, 60 fps seems just perfectly ok.

How ever ofc the monitor is a limiting factor in what you can see in computer screen :D, majority of the monitors have refresh rate of 60 == can't show more than 60 frames per second. That also doesn't mean that you will get best possible experience with limiting frame rate to 60, smoothest setting I found was capping frame rate to 120.

Although it may be interesting what you write, please stay on topic. And I'm very thankful for interim answers.
- You did.
- And...
- ...I didn't.

If you want a new one you should buy amd 5570 or if you find for this price 5670. both better with ddr5 memory. Or some second hand like amd 5750 or 5770. Its bad that nvidia havent any good card in this price category, so you will do better to buy ati.

buying a new card which doesnt support dx10 or dx11, shader 4+ and gl4.1 now is like going out and buying a pentium 4 single processor, its pointless and a waste of money

as for the OP the 2 cards i posted will be the best new cards near your budget. nvidia at this range are more expensive, this is coming from a guy who only buys nvidia

be it budget or not, buying poor card now will mean you need another soon if you plan to play any new games other than tm2. buying an old card which doesnt support latest features will limit you alot in what you can do with games. of course it also depends on the rest of your machine

but the 2 i linked will be the best you can hope for unless you get a 2nd hand card, id sell you my gainward gtx260 GS for about £50 if you lived in scotland

If the rest of your PC is as old as the x800 maybe you should be looking into getting a new PC.

You all talk like affording the latest hardware is a given. I was talking with WiiD on Skype and he honestly seemed surprised that I don't have any money. I'm actually in the hole. That's the funny thing about living in a crappy economy with a 3 year old daughter and just coming out of school with no job and poor parents to start with. >_> Not everybody can buy the latest stuff. We have to make do with what we -can- afford...
