Yes of course, I was just commenting on why you can use "real" MSAA with low quality shaders but are limited to FXAA with high quality shaders. But yeah, being able to adjust the amount of FXAA would still be better than nothing, although I think FXAA will never look as good as MSAA.Expack wrote:Actually, it's possible to use FXAA under DX9, if this statement from the latest Deus Ex: Human Revolution patch changelog is evidence:
Allow users to adjust power of FXAA

Hey horse,
I did what you said, but the game crashes, also the launcher when i click play.
Shaders on "Very Nice", AA off.

I support this. Also add multi-screen resolution screen space ambient occlusion(the fastest and removes noise) and use something cool like volumetric textures on the mountains.

There should be a file called log.log which was generated by the dll, please post the contents of that file, it is not very long.

There is no such file. The game crashes instantly when I press "Play" if I have your files in the folder.crazy_horse wrote:There should be a file called log.log which was generated by the dll, please post the contents of that file, it is not very long.

Does your folder look like this:

otherwise try replacing the contents of fxaa3_11.h in a text editor with this

Re: Allow users to adjust power of FXAA
works like a charm for me, thank you. (ati 6970)
FXAA is not as crisp as custom ati antialiasing i'm used to, but at max power the game really looks nicer.
I must admit i had been looking for something like this for sooo long... thanks, really
on the old united forever i used to trick the drivers by renaming the exe to ut3.exe, because since dicember 2010 (if i remember correctly) ati blacklisted trackmania so the drivers won't apply antialiasing even if they are forced to do so by the user.

Re: Allow users to adjust power of FXAA
re-posting because i changed my mind after a bit playing: full-power fxaa is maybe too blurry, normal is sharper and more enjoyable in the long run...
