Disconnecting

Post by hotbob »

I must have tried playing multiplayer about 40 times minimum now, but every single time, after a while, anywhere between 20 secs and 2 mins into the race, I get this message:
"The match was interupted:
Connection to [ip-adress] failed or disconnected from server
(10022)
Returning to menus."

I'm playing from malta so pings are relatively high, between 150-180 on the servers i've chosen to try on. But is that really so high that i should get disconnected every time?

I have also tried turning the firewall off completely, but that did not help, so I am assuming the firewall is not the problem.

I'm at a loss, any suggestions appreciated.

Can you try this.
kalimerre wrote: Check your host file in windows (You can find his location here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file)

Then put this file in editable mode (right click on this file => uncheck the hut read-only).
You need to remove these ligns (if it appears)

Code: Select all

127.0.0.1 mp02.maniaplanet.com
127.0.0.1 mp01.maniaplanet.com
127.0.0.1 mp03.maniaplanet.com
127.0.0.1 game.maniaplanet.com

I checked my host file, i did not have those lines in it.
Just for good measure i tried to add them just to see what happened, and while those lines were in, i could not connect
to the main server at all.
So removed them again, but still get disconnected.
