[TM2] - [Connection/Performance] Strange time skipping

My friend was complaining about that his TrackMania 2 was lagging, so I told him to create a quick test server. Now when we were at his server, the timer was skipping forward randomly. I think this is because of his very old PC, but it's sure, that it can run TM2.

I don't know so much about his computer, than that it's very old (5-6 years), but it's still an average PC compared to the computers today. The graphic card is nVidia Geforce 7300 GT. That's all I know.

When I mean the lag at here, I don't mean, that he's running at 30fps or that he has a high ping, I mean that he is running it good but randomly it freezes for a half a second or something. That's what my friend told me.

Sorry to doublepost, but I really have to bump this, because I have some new information about the subject.

So I went to my friend to see, what's wrong with his Trackmania, and as I played it, I saw, that when the framerate gets over 60, the game literally speeds up. So if he has... let's say 75 FPS, the game speeds up to 125%, maybe not this much, but still so much to ruin the gameplay. This is why it does do the jumps in the video, as the server tries to keep on the host's speed, while the others (including me) have the original framerate, without the speeding issue, leaving the time error to everyone except the host.

I've heard about some optimizers, but I haven't searched any of those programs. So if you know any good program, what could fix this, send a link or something.

i bet his internet connection is too slow..
i just played while downloading at full capacity and experienced the same weird speedups/timeskips.. was funny but some of my times did not count..

Nope, it's not his connection. These strange speedups happen in singleplayer, too.
