When we create maps/tracks we always need to validate them.
Then instead of playing it through validation we play them in Local/Single Race.
Once we beat our record it should be updated within the map so that we can fix the timers for certain medals and our own medal since we drove it faster.
ex.
I am making a set of tracks and managed to beat my best time on a [2'01"69] track to [1'57"99] - made it perfectly and now the validation doesn't allow me to fix times for gold medal since I want it to be [2'01"68].
Becouse Validation time is: [2'01"69]
My best run in local is: [1'57"99]
And want Gold to be: [2'01"68]
Since I improved my skill and made a perfect run. (No i'm not that good to play same track same way everytime)

Re: [Suggestion/Fix needed] Validation time & Local time
The author time should stay the same on a track once you finished it and can only be changed in the editor for a reason, so no one tampers with it.
You can still save the replay and update the time on TMX, but updating times from Local Play will never be added and doesn't have to. That's what validating the map is for.

Everyone's got Unique Login that is saved within the map -
once you beat your record in local you should be able to update the times in editor without having to get a better time again in validation - that's all I mean - I DO NOT MEAN UPDATING UPLOADED MAPS...

Re: [Suggestion/Fix needed] Validation time & Local time
Ok you got a point there.
I still don't really see the need for it. You can just as well load the track in the editor and validate from there, it costs you about two seconds more at most. It's pretty much a comfort feature that no one really misses.
However, Local Play and the Editor are two completely different beasts, so I guess writing to the maps from local play and not only accessing them would be a major code change, for a really small, not all that useful feature, so I doubt it is going to happen.

Re: [Suggestion/Fix needed] Validation time & Local time
They used to fix that in TM1 where it took your "training" time and your account info (login) as the best time in validation.
No big change needed in the code- it's fairly simple:
Same Login - Training time = Validation best time.
The reason is that you could fix your best time by let's say 2s which is a lot. In a 2 min track that's a huge differance.
Sometimes we have better sometimes worse runs. That's why it should work as said..
