[Annoyance]cannot play singleplayer without 650MB patch

normally at home with 100mbit line and no FUP this wouldn't be a problem. but at the moment im away and i have only mobile internet(3GB limit and low speed). i spent last 3 hours downloading trackmania2 which i just bought.
i had to be online to create new account with the cdkey i got. that was expected(every game needs useless anti-piracy cdkey and online auth. for singleplayer righ?).
now when i start the game offline, it tells me to go online to play singleplayer. when i go online, it tells me to download 650MB patch. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? i dont even have 650MB free on my mobile internet anymore.
im sure that if i go to warezbb and search for crack i will be able to play the game without the patch right now.

cant you at least upload new and updated version on the website? i doubt that there is 650MB of new content and that IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PLAY SINGLEPLAYER without this patch.

obviously i downloaded the game after i purchased it(as most customers do). version provided there was without the patch. giving people newer version as primary download would be nice dont you think? also im not sure that i own any "planets" as new player to TM2.

anyway this was just a suggestion. this will not be a problem for me because i will be at home in few hours. i bought trackmania2 mostly for multiplayer so updating later is not a problem. it was just extra annoying to waste my last mobile traffic to download game that cannot be started without downloading 650MB more(not even singleplayer).
i was even more mad when i realized that i could just download warez version just for today(for the singleplayer part) :/
