custom skin turned silver in profil

I created a custom skin, played online-multiplayer and could see my skin.
Suddenly the skin was white.
When I go to profil, the skin is silver.
Some time before, I tried to create a locator - did this cause the problem?
I don´t undertstand why I can´t see my own skin / why it turned silver.
On my own pc, the skin should be loaded out of directly and not via Internet, so the locator shouldn´t have any effect.
Any idea what I did wrong?

Perhaps the locator is not 100% correct, and then the game doesn't find your skin, therefore displays a kind of default skin (silver/gray).
Check the locator carefully, compare with your real skin location, check case of the letters etc.
