[Suggestion] Easy option to show the racing line

Re: [Suggestion] Easy option to show the racing line
Something that could be interesting, would be the possibility, in solo mode, to see the raceline of a replay. A replay of the author, gold, etc. times, but also of a bought solo top replay. The last case would not be very different of an optimal raceline.

Apologies I was not in the best mood yesterday and flaming was not my intention.
My main critcism was not anything to do with the ghosts etc I may have taken a part of the original post out of context ,over reacted and poorly clarified my objections.

To do this for every track and show the true optimal line (not based on the validation) would have been implausable. But to my error on second reading I presume he meant the path taken by the authors validation (Which may not be optimal).occam wrote:Â
For a possible feature to show the ideal racing line it would be even nicer to display the line directly on the track's textures itself Â

Of course the authors line isn't the perfect one; but it's a good point to start with. Most players are satisfied when they beat the author; the ones who wanna go further are most likely able to find the line which fits to them.
I just let my girlfriend play the A and B tracks and she would've needed this line, believe me
Any ghost can get out of your range which makes it difficult to follow them.
I think painting this line on the track is not the best idea at all; what happens at jumps?
I'd make a floating line just as the trails but set them to ground level.
So, no problems with implemention, just let the game calculate the ghost's line through the course and then start the race and everybody's happy.
