what is a tilt trick?
I've seen some players tilt their car a little bit before a jump and get a little booster when landed.I've tried it several times but usually I got landed drifting instead of getting that boost.so what's the mechanism behind this?on what condition does the tilt trick become a booster or give you a drift?

The tilt thingy only works in Stadium more or less because the lack of air control and the current handling makes the CanyonCar fail a lot when tilting before jumping or dropping. Tilting to the sides ofc.

Re: what is a tilt trick?
I could be wrong but the 'tilt' I think you you mean is not the level of the car between the front and rear axles (as there is no air-braking in TM2). I think you mean the slight tilt in the angle of the jump. There is no actual 'tilt boost' that I know of but by making the car turn slightly as you leave the ground and go through the air, you can make the car land on the other side of the jump in the right position to carry on driving without the need for further correction. Any drift or skid will slow the car down making it seem like the others are 'boosting' as they race past you. Also, try to catch the 'down slope' when coming down from a jump. The slope is more in line with the level (front to back) of the car will help aid your accelleration.
Usually, the more time your vehicle is off the ground the slower it will become, though it is handy on multiple hills and legal 'cuts'. Watch the leaders for a while and their 'drive line' as they approach obsticles like jumps and sharp turns, theres alot can be learnt. Hope this hepls

I agree there mate ... Wish we had 'air braking' in TM2metoxys wrote:The tilt thingy only works in Stadium more or less because the lack of air control and the current handling makes the CanyonCar fail a lot when tilting before jumping or dropping. Tilting to the sides ofc.

There is some airbrake;

In TMNF you could take a straight jump somewhat sideways and gain some distance. I unintentionally used this on a few tracks and was surprised why people considered them so hard.
In TM2 you can't do that because drifting.

Re: what is a tilt trick?
I think he means before you go off a jump, there is a little trick that gives your car a slight boost or something.
I've been studying some of the fast guy's lines, and it seems they kind of turn one way before the jump, then turn just enough the opposite way to counter the weight transfer of the car and stop it from barrel rolling, but maybe it gives them a slight boost.
I haven't perfected it yet, but I'm trying to get good at it, then I will do some tests.

Re: what is a tilt trick?
It kind of makes sense from a game engine standpoint, if you turn a slight bit, then turn back and correct your course before launching you may have a higher speed leaving the ramp. Gonna have to try this.

Re: what is a tilt trick?
What you do is go left to right or right to left as you jump. This causes your car to tilt to the side or in some cases your nose will dive. The whole idea behind this is to limit air time or get your wheels to touch the track sooner than they would if you were to just drive straight off the jump.
Re: what is a tilt trick?
As far as I know the car's nose dives when you brake just before the ramp ends, noticable on tracks like A03, B01 and C03.
