[TM2] [Sound] No game audio and more.

So this is a rather interesting issue I am having. When I install the game, it will run without a hitch. My computer runs like normal. Once my computer has been turned on from a different session than the session I installed TrackMania 2, I encounter problems.

When my computer first boots up, there are no issues. I can listen to music through iTunes, watch videos in PowerDVD, and play games like Team Fortress 2 or Bit-Trip Beat without issue. However, when I boot up TrackMania 2, I get no audio in game. Then when I close TM2, while it will exit full screen, I will still be left with a black window for ManiaPlanet on my desktop requiring me to use the task manager to end the process. It is now after having booting up TM2 that when I open up iTunes and click play on a song, no audio will be produced, the song doesn't start to play and the application will crash. Same for watching a video, the program will crash. Even trying to play one of my other games, the game won't make it past a black screen on start up. When I go to manage my sound devices' properties, either it will crash once it opens or it will not open at all. Do note however that any audio produced through the browser like You Tube or general windows sounds will still play like normal.

As I said, the way I replicate this is by installing the game, rebooting my system, and launching the game.

My system setup is:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (SP1)
Intel Core i7 920 with 2.67GHz
9GB RAM
Direct X 11
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
Logitech G930 Headset with driver version 6.01.7601.17514(English)
Internet Explorer is the default browser
Norton Internet Security 2011

Did you try to modify the advanced audio settings using the Maniaplanet launcher?

Perhaps the audio driver for your sound card does not allow multiple access,
and the blocking maniaplanet.exe does not release it properly.

- use standard or the correct audio device
- deactivate EFX and HRTF
- make sure you have the latest audio drivers for your system

My audio drivers are up to date. I had played around with the advanced settings with no luck. I will admit even though I should have tested my system useing the default output device of speekers, I didn't. Though yesterday I found out this issue is not issolated to Trackmania. Minecraft, of all programs, had caused the same issues leaving me to belive my computer is not doing to well.

From that, I have decided to do something I should have done a while ago. That being, a full system restoration. I am also experiencing problems with TF2 mods not allowing me to boot the game. With what I do, I need that ability. I got this computer just over two years ago and it has not been running it's best as of late. So I figure I may as well give it the reboot it deserves.

Thank you for your attempt to help even though this would be a situation the only affects me. Hopefully the strange issue will be solved afterwards.

hello, did you have the chance to see if it is running better with the recent updates?

Why I'm also writing, another user has issues related to surround sound with his G930,
perhaps it is the same for you then?
